Hey...I've been using Xfire since I started playing WoW when WoW was in beta...I've never had a problem with it, but I was just wondering if you guys think it could lower frame rates in a game, cause it seems like it is effecting my Dragon Age. Not sure though.

It can, but generally only because of some bug or some other weird effect. In general if your PC isnt the best it does take some extra resources to run xfire(especially if you have x64bit, takes about 2processes instead of just 1).

I'm sure some others will disagree, but I say it does indeed effect frames to an extent/maybe even just bugged.

I have absolutely nothing aganst xfire, in fact I use it everyday, all day. But bugs in xfire do rarely crash my games, hurts frames, etc.

I should note though, that effecting frames prob wouldnt be much, very very low number. But I've always been picky about FPS, cant even stand it when fps are below 70 in any game. So for me, every frame counts. =)

Yeah, Xfire has been an all day every day thing for me also. But on my Dragon Age I just keep crashing suddenly, the game just quits and I have no idea why. I'm not getting an Xfire crash report though. And technically if you are above 60 FPS there isn't really any difference in frames...because 60 is liquid smooth, it is about as good as it gets.

Oblivion always keept crashing for me, and that was xfire. Turned it of and it never crached once after that, a shame coz I like having xfire running.
