I just picked up my copy of X-wing allinace after many years. Of course my computer is a little better than it used to be and I have a new flat panel monitor, but I'm dissapointed about how the game runs. Frame rate is wonderful and the textrures are good all things considered. The problem is when I crank the resolution up to the maxium the game supports, I can't read any of the text on the screen. This obviously makes the game difficult to play if I can't read anything during a battle. I can't find a specific patch for this anywhere and I do have the most updated version. If anyone can suggest something or help me out in any way, I'd really like to play this game again. I have a 7600GT and a 17" lg flat panel.

That's an awesome website and I've already downloaded a few of the skins for multiplayer where I don't really have to read objectives, but I couldn't find any fix for the text problem. That modding site is one reason I play star wars games though.

What is it that makes the text unreadable? Is it blurry, too small, not there at all?

although Ive never done it u can use Windows XP, maybe Vista too, and run the compatibility mode where it makes Xp pretend its running an old form of windows, might work. dont know how to use it but worth alook.

Funny u should bring up XWA because i just found my original xwing in a box yesterday and will try to fire it up.

I never thought of trying to run compatibility mode, have to give it a shot and let everyone know how it works. And the text is unreadable in the fact that its just broken. What shows up of individual letters is nice and crisp, but only about 40% of each letter will show up. That's the best I can explain it. and it seems random as well, depending where it is on the screen, different parts of the letter "e" will be displayed. If anyone can tell me how to post a screen shot I'd be more than happy to do it.
