Thats impossible because XP doesn't support DX10 and Microsoft would just sue if they found a way to run it on XP lol. Also HL2 engine Source uses DX and Not Open GL and same for TF2
Also Advance tech = these cards will run on XP.

They could consider alot of the features the Dx10 cards have as advanced and it has nothing to do with what X10 specializes in.

Ever get bored of being wrong all the time?
Emulating DX10 features isn't breaking any kind of intellectual property laws. If a video card can do DX10 effects without DX10, MS has nothing to say about it. It's just going to be more hardware intensive to run those effects on XP.

Exactly..... This does not mean HL2 will be using DX10 effects, let alone being able to bend space/time and make DX10 features work on XP.DX 7 what a joke, if you use DX 7 hardware you have no place playing modern games period. If they stopped wasting their time like this maybe they would complete something in a timely manner.

Well, there are certain people in this world who either dont have the financial means to afford, or the accessto, groundbreaking hardware. They need video games too, so Dx7 isnt a joke yet. I admit its pretty dated, though, and that Valve would still make a great deal of money by marketing to Dx8 on up only.

It's a major issue for PC gaming in general, making a PC game requires that it works on a huge variety of hardware. Else they limit their potential customers.cmon its not that expensive to buy a dx9 vid card.Mozilla2006
So I can walk into mny neighborhood Bestbuy in Vietnam and buy a Geforce 7600, or I can convince newegg.com to ship me a Geforce 7900GS to the Congo?
Not every country is as developed or as accessable as the Americans, parts of Asia, and Western Europe.

Yeah, life isn't fair though.. And to be honest the most profit come from the devolped nations such as in Europe, the America's or the Eastern Asian nations, the places where this hardware is available.. The fact of the matter you can get a DX9 card for less then a brand new pc game only adds to the point why companies should not be expected to give such hardship in allowing such outdated technology when its very inexpensive to upgrade... And if you live in Congo or Vietnam, tough luck but those countries do not represent the majority of the populations who can.
