I finally finished Dragon Age: Origins. After probably nearly a year of playing (on and off of course).

First thing to say is this game was EPIC.... mostly in freaking LENGTH. God, it felt longer than Baldurs Gate 2.

I quite enjoyed it.

- The graphics were pretty good (although should have been better in parts)

- The gameplay was good old D&D

- The dialogue was great (a bit excessive in parts)

- Story was nothing innovative but well told

- You REALLY get your money's worth in lengh (although imo a bit too long)

- Did ANYONE beat it in Hard? I barely made it in Easy.

Now I need info/spoilers:

!!!! SPOILERS ALERT !!!!

- What happens if you decide to have a baby with Morrigan? ending?

- What happens if you decide to let Alistair kill the archdemon? ending?

- There are 2 expansions? Awakening and Witch Hunt? Can someone please give me a summary of the story + ending on these? (NO, I AINT GONNA PLAY THEM)

- Did I miss any expansions? story and ending?

- On to part 2. What happens when I import my saves. Does the story matter from part 1?

- How long after part 1 does part 2 take place? any relation?

- Any further info welcomed.

THANKS

Dude, you've GOT to play Awakening if you enjoyed Origins that much, none of the other dlc was worth it to me but I thoroughly enjoyed Awakening. As for the other stuff I can't tell you because I played the same route you did.

Now I need info/spoilers:

!!!! SPOILERS ALERT !!!!

- What happens if you decide to have a baby with Morrigan? ending?

Nobody dies from killing the archdemon. The witchhunt dlc does not give a real ending either to that story arc.

- What happens if you decide to let Alistair kill the archdemon? ending?

Depends if you choose to get morrigan pregnant yourself or if you convince Alistair to do it for you. If you do neither he just dies.

- There are 2 expansions? Awakening and Witch Hunt? Can someone please give me a summary of the story + ending on these? (NO, I AINT GONNA PLAY THEM)

Witch hunt is just you meeting Morrigan again and it doesn't really solve anything. Either you can go with Moirrigan through those mirrors that teleports you far away or you stay. You can stab her aswell but you don't see her die.

If you've played Neverwinter Night 2, then you have played the awakening exp. It's just manage a keep and your choices decides the fate of that keep and another city. Read about the ending on wikipedia, because it's hard to explain really. There's loads of **** in the exp that makes no sense if you haven't read the books.

- Did I miss any expansions? story and ending?

There's other DLC that doesn't really have anything to do with the main story, just background info and so on.

- On to part 2. What happens when I import my saves. Does the story matter from part 1?

Yup, there's loads of references to the choices you made and survining characters makes guest apperances. More than that, no.

- How long after part 1 does part 2 take place? any relation?

The main character in DA2 escapes lothering when the blight hits and Lothering is the first town where you meet Sten and leliana.

There aren't much relation to the fifth blight or the greywardens.

- Any further info welcomed.

THANKS

I had a baby with morrigan, but I also killed the dragon myself so I don't know.

Awakening is an expansion with hunt is just one of the countless DLC. And if you enjoyed Origins then you HAVE to play awakening.

If you enjoyed it so much then why would you not play awakening? Too long? Its not that long really, about 10 to 15 hours. Just a little over your average FPS length, Im sure you can cope.

You should relaly play awekening. It's a solid expansion and it features some interesting new characters. Also, it's high level so it's fun to play around with new powerful abilities.

I played the game and the expansion through about 3 times each all on nightmare difficulty. Loved that game.

-if you decide to have a baby with her she just takes off after the fight, if you romanced her you can leave with her in th witch hunt dlc

-awakening doesn't really add anything big to the story, it just adds a bit of story about a strange darkspawn and how the archdemon was corrupted (i think been a while since i played it)

-it changes a few dialogue lines, nothing major

-apparently in the ending of da2 they are trying to mix it with da 1, so i think there is gonna be a relation but nothing is confirmed so far.

You survive, Morrigan dissapears and the game lets you know she's pregnant. What happens with the baby, nobody knows, not even the Witch Hunt DLC tells it.

Alistair dies and Anora becomes queen, or you become king (if you're human) with Anora as your wife. Alistair won't die if he had sex with Morrigan to make the baby though.

Awakening is the expansion, it's worth the money for the cost of a typical expansion. Witch Hunt is DLC and NOT WORTH it.

No, Dragon Age: Origins is enough, the expansion is a good follow up what happens after with the Warden though.

Not much actually.

Thanks guys. Lots of people are saying I should play Awakening before DA2.... maybe I will but for now I need some time off from RPG, lol.....this game took it out of me. I still want to play Homefront, Spiderman Dimensions and Crysis 2.... not to mention DA2. (maybe Awakening before that) I let my character slay the archdemon....so what happens in Awakening if he is dead? don't I have to import saves? Also, is awakening stand-alone? (I uninstalled Dragon Age)

Don't play Awakening. It cuts out the singing by the camp fire sections. There's no Morrigan or Alistair. Some quests are still broken. The story isn't nearly as strong. The game is more combat focussed. Some scenarios feel like they're rehashed. Like the final battle is fair dinkum, identical to the one in Origins. I gave it 7/10. Its a pretty LAZY expansion pack.

Now pick up Awakenings, really enjoyed it alot, in some ways more then Origins, just dont expect it to be as long.

Just stay far away from the other DLC, Awakenings was surprisingly good though.

And you can't carry over your character to Awakening. So I've heard. Am I correct?

You can carry your character over to awakening. If your character died in Origins you can opt to select another grey warden.

No you can import him but I don't think the choices you made in the first game make any difference here. And like Kevin Special K Van Ord said in his review - some aspects of the story are now trivialised, like how quickly you can make people into a Grey Warden. I don't see how anyone could honestly tell me that they had a better time with it than the vanilla game. Not even General!

Even if your character dies, you can import that save. You just play as a random Orlesian Greywarden, but with references what you did during the main campaign.

As Kevin V said in his review "This expansion pack isn't as extraordinary as the original Dragon Age, but it's still immensely entertaining".

Immensely entertaining indeed, alot better then I expected, thought it would just be a cash in like the other DLC for Origins, but turned out to be alot of fu. Loved having your own keep/castle to and some of the decisions you have to make are really tough.

well i play table top d&d...

so im kinda a b**** when it comes to rpg's and when people say its d&d...i definitely expect more then 3 classes and 30ish skills/feats...the character creation is very slim compared to the then 3.5 ruleset...or even compared to the 4.0 ruleset...in the actual rulesets there are 8core classes...and litterally 50+ different variations of classes with each of their strengths and weaknesses...also there are hundreds of feats for characters to take and 20-30 skills...not to mention dieties and the stats werent even named right...that and the game never had a roll check really...u couldnt really miss things unless u were an archer i dont think(didnt ever play as the archer...) dont get me wrong...i loved DA:O...its a good game...but its not the spiritual successor of baldurs gate which is as strick d&d as a game ever tried to be...it was ruleset 1.5 even...and did really well at implementing the rolls and the challenging experience of d&d...and DA:O isnt really a d&d game...but thats not entirely a bad thing..cause sometimes less is more...and as it turns out...in this case that holds true

there are some similarities, but it's not DnD. the combat itself isn't 'round-based', for example.
