Hey guys this is series of threads in progress with start of in "whats your favorite wii flash games/sites" in wii forum. But this is is a different story. This is pc so its a different topic but same idea for free loaders =p. Anyways title basicaly says it all so whats your favorite free pc game, it doesnt have to be a ceratin type or genre. Happy Posting.
Anyway, I'm not sure I have a singlemost favorite one, but collectively my favorites are the old DOS games that are now freeware (and able to be played through DOSBox), like Bio Menace, Tyrian 2000, Major Stryker, Heartlight, and others.
He might have gotten them for free with a hardware purchase or something, like a pack-in game with a video card. I received Supreme Commander for free with my CPU from Newegg :P Anyway, don't think I've seen those two games offered for free before and those aren't the types of games the OP is talking about anyway ;)
Hmm, I honestly haven't come across any free games that I've been blown away by and frequently play, none are my favorites I guess.
Just to clarify the post... i'm pretty sure he means free.... as in offered for free.... not I got my hands on a hacked version free... lol

Silkroad is the most populated. There's also Rappelz and Lineage 2 (free if u play priv servers). More manga style RPG's include flyff, maplestory, and trickster.
AA and War Rock are free FPS games.
3rd person Fighter game called Spacecowboy was fun for a few days.
My all time favorite free online game would be Subspace. Top down space combat sim thatgoes by the name Continuum now and only a thousand or sopeople still play worldwide.A fewarenas typically have 100+ people most of the time though. I've played that game for probably 8 years.

I believe Far Cry was available for free only during the Labor Day weekend, and you had to install spyware since it was sponsored by McDonalds.

He may have been talking about Descent Freespace (2).
That always irked me, especially when I started playing Freespace and found that it had almost NOTHING in common with Descent except for futuristic spacecraft(and I'm pretty sure Volition was one half of a split Parallax Software, the other half being Outrage). Hell, in Europe, it's titled "Conflict: Freespace", furthermore adding to the confusion...
