COH hands-down (then followed by DOW), Relic seems to have pretty good control over the RTS market now.

Company of Heroes, definitely.
I agree, Relic seems to have the RTS genre pretty well covered.
Their games are excellent. Homeworld, Dawn of War and now Company of Heroes.

Company of Heroes is incredible. I hear SupCom is pretty solid as well. Whatever you do, stay away from C&C3.

Concur with all regarding CoH. What a grand-slam for Relic, no? As if the Dawn of War stuff wasn't good enough.

Close behind, in my book, is Medieval 2: TW. The Total War series as a whole is among my favorite franchises of all time.

You're not alone--lots of people share that complaint--but personally, I never feel that way. I can be jaded as all hell with a particular game genre, or a certain style of gameplay; I can become bored with RTSs, or RPGs, or shooters. But a theme or setting? No, never happened. I can't imagine my boredom with, say, a shooter like Call of Duty dampening my enthusiasm for a strategy title like Company of Heroes.

Yes, I love DoW, but I never picked up the expansions, I will most likely get the platinum edition that has both.

I would say World In Conflict is the best I've played recently, the beta that is. The games is gonna be an instant classic.

Well, I hate to be next in a long line of people to tell you this, but, um, you are missing a fantastic game. I mean, if you enjoy Dawn of War, and you like RTSs in general, in all likelihood you'd love the hell out of CoH. I love DoW myself... but CoH makes it feel like Relic's test run.

Anyways, carry on. :)

DoW:Dark Crusade is heads and shoulders above the original game definatly get it. I'm reinstalling My DoW collection as we speak because I seen the Platinum Edition Trailer yesterday.

I like WarCraft 3 Reign of Chaos & Frozen Throne for single player hands down.

I like SupCom & CoH for Multi hands down.

And I agree with a poster above don't remember who said it stay away from C&C3.

World in Conflict shows some strong potential.

To me Red Alert 2 is still the greatest RTS of all time, but recently ive enjoyed Company of Heroes due to its ingenuity, But I'm still a sucker for the old tried and true gathering of ressources and building numerous soldiers and machinery

I got Medieval II: Total War, but am finding it a very tough learning curve, so I can't judge on it. And I dunno if I can really call it an RTS - it looks more of a hybrid RTS/TBS.

Madrocketeer--stick with it. The Total War approach to strategy, both the RTS and turn-based aspects--is brilliant.

I totally dig RTS and definintely agree COH, Warcraft 3, are two of my favorites. Now though I'm totally addicted to SupCom. Awesome scale and the improvements, which I just mentioned in another thread, by gas powered games has made a great game much better. The modsystem is also proving to really draw in a lot of community projects to improve AI and other aspects of the game.

RA2 will always be my favourite, but stopped playing due to lack of players.

Been playing Generals for the past couple of years.

Recently got my C&C3, played the demo, didnt likw how they botched the hotkeys (in my opinion) but we'll see how it is when I get online.
