DOW Dark Crusade Hands down...Am i the only person who is so sick of WWII games?...i'm sure COH was good but i can't stand WWII games anymoremattisgod01
Yeah I bought it...I would have loved the game if it wasn't ww2. Im just so awfully sick of ww2 games it takes the fun out of any game related to that era.
Your favourite rts of recent times.. Mine has to be coh, DoW very close though.Frozzik
Concur with all regarding CoH. What a grand-slam for Relic, no? As if the Dawn of War stuff wasn't good enough.
Close behind, in my book, is Medieval 2: TW. The Total War series as a whole is among my favorite franchises of all time.

You're not alone--lots of people share that complaint--but personally, I never feel that way. I can be jaded as all hell with a particular game genre, or a certain style of gameplay; I can become bored with RTSs, or RPGs, or shooters. But a theme or setting? No, never happened. I can't imagine my boredom with, say, a shooter like Call of Duty dampening my enthusiasm for a strategy title like Company of Heroes.

The thing that anoys me the most about it is that so many people say that COH was such a good game but my dislike for WWII games makes it unbareable to play...feels like i'm missing out on a great game
Yes, I love DoW, but I never picked up the expansions, I will most likely get the platinum edition that has both.
I would say World In Conflict is the best I've played recently, the beta that is. The games is gonna be an instant classic.

Well, I hate to be next in a long line of people to tell you this, but, um, you are missing a fantastic game. I mean, if you enjoy Dawn of War, and you like RTSs in general, in all likelihood you'd love the hell out of CoH. I love DoW myself... but CoH makes it feel like Relic's test run.
Anyways, carry on. :)

DoW:Dark Crusade is heads and shoulders above the original game definatly get it. I'm reinstalling My DoW collection as we speak because I seen the Platinum Edition Trailer yesterday.
I like WarCraft 3 Reign of Chaos & Frozen Throne for single player hands down.
I like SupCom & CoH for Multi hands down.
And I agree with a poster above don't remember who said it stay away from C&C3.
World in Conflict shows some strong potential.
COH hands-down (then followed by DOW), Relic seems to have pretty good control over the RTS market now.Fragmaster3000
Followed by all three Homeworld games....

I'm assuming that you didn't play COH then... You missed out on a fantastic experience, cast all notions of WWII games aside.

Medieval II: Total War without a doubt my favorite rts. absolutely love the total war games.other than that, probably warcraft 3: reign of chaos and frozen throne.hastati4
I got Medieval II: Total War, but am finding it a very tough learning curve, so I can't judge on it. And I dunno if I can really call it an RTS - it looks more of a hybrid RTS/TBS.madrocketeer
Madrocketeer--stick with it. The Total War approach to strategy, both the RTS and turn-based aspects--is brilliant.
1) Company of Heroes
2) C&C Red Alert: Yuri's Revenge
3) Warcraft III
4) Starcraft
and yeah i was totally let down with C&C 3 its just a spam fest of detail lacking mammoths and avatars
RA2 will always be my favourite, but stopped playing due to lack of players.
Been playing Generals for the past couple of years.
Recently got my C&C3, played the demo, didnt likw how they botched the hotkeys (in my opinion) but we'll see how it is when I get online.
