They were ahead a bunch of times, infact if nVidia never made the 7950gx2, they would have been behind for the x1800 and x1900 and x1950. They were ahead on the x800/x850 series, along with the 9700/9800 series. I guess you could say nVidia had the crown for the 7800gtx 512mb, but x1800xt p.e. 512mb was exchanging scores and fps with it.True, but who made more money ? :|

They dont measure their wallets those 2 companies...they measure by benchmarks. But money is how the world is measured.
I feel kinda bad for AMD right now. They have to fire employees to cut their losses, and the HD 2900XT doesn't look too good, losing them the halo effect. They have K10 coming, but so is Penryn. Oh well, hopefully they will get ir done and we will see a strong AMD kicking intel's and nvidia's a*ses like the good old daysfrost_mourne13
All they did was cut somemore from marketing to increase their cash...
It's not like they cut a bunch of actual workers or researchers...
Gosh, people making comments without knowing all the facts, i.e. whole story.
You do realize how many assests they have acquired the past year, which is the main reason why their cash/profits are so low.Â

Intel did, selling GMA chips.Â

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard (today). They could care less about benchmarks if they make a profit. The only color that matters is green.
