Thanx for telling us what games Clover made lol. Wow 3 whole games and they were one of the best developers on the ps2? There was only one game they created that they should be proud of or get any credit for, as a developerand that is Okami. The rest suck, and they suck bad.
If X-seed(the remnants of clover) pump out new games I will meet them with much bile and revulsion just waiting to puke all over it, cuz there track record to me is pitiful and lacking, not awe inspiring. We shall see if capcom had any roll in how bad they sucked or if capcom was going to give them the axe(because they sucked)and they jumped ship first like rats.
to descrive a game as a "flaming turd" you must have pretty strong arguments...i asked for people's oppinion and expected some arguments not just "i disagree answers". my point, and my oppinion is that there are alot of production studios that are around there spewing lame gasmes for years before they can come up with something goodd...clover studios had a high quality rate in the short time they were around

You admit that you never played Viewtiful Joe but are ready to state that it sucked bad? It's actually a really good game which you have not bothered to try because of your lofty prejudging. You can't say a game sucks until you have played it.

Yes. Viewtifl Joe looks stupid but its a very good game. I saw it at walmart so I decided to buy it because it was $10. I bought it and played it and it turned out to be a very good game. The only negative thing about it was the game was too short but everything else was good.
Sorry, I dont give a crap how great the fat girls personality is. I want a girl who looks good and has personality. And the song at the end of my posts is just a signature, its not like i type it out each time i make a post. I like the song. Nothing anyone puts in a signature of a video game forum is worth philosophizing over. Its just something to do to let people know a little bit about yourself. All people should take away from my sig is that i like that song, not that i wanna make love to jim jones, or kill him and take over his life, or try to make everyone else like that song lol.
Okami is truly one of the greatest achievements in video game development and design. That is really their stand-out game for me. God Hand might have been a cool game if it was actually finished.
I've completed all three titles, and I loved them all. Okami is of course Clover's most successful title forobvious reasons. God Handwas released at a budget price and I felt that it wasa solid brawler with alot of humor. Viewtiful Joe does indeed look very stupid(cause the story itself is really stupid)but if you give the game a chance, it's a really fun beat em up. Im hoping they'll release more qualitytitles for the ps2/ps3 with their new company.

Before anyone gets confused, you are mixing up two different companies.
The former Clover executives went off and formed the development company called Seeds.
Xseed is a game localization company that translated brought Wild Arms 4 and Shadow Hearts 3 to the US.
Clover had its ideals straight imo it is just a shame theyre development wasent always on par.
You can badmouth them as much as you want but one thing they have going for them they atleast had the balls to experiment instead of just rehashing the same old shyte that sold well in the past. this has become a disturbing trend to wich i mostly point fingers at EA imo.
Clover brought us innovating games showing us that fun should always come first.
Well God Hand didn't excite me and Viewtiful Joe was just mediocre I felt, nothing that was worth buying. I bought Okami though just out of hype that it was getting from people and I figured I'd hate it. It's probably towards the top of my list in my collection though and I absolutely adore it...however I wish I could get back to it and beat it instead of turning my attention to games that I got after it. That and I've got an addiction to fishing in the game so it's driving me nuts lol.
I haven't played Viewtiful Joe yet. I could play the GCN versions through my Wii, but I've heard that the PS2 versions have extra content. Which should I go for? As far as Okami goes, I have a rented copy, but I have yet to visit any of my PS2-or-PS3-owning friends just to play it. I'm going to change that tomorrow. Can't comment on all their other games, but some of the guys from Clover(Inaba was one)were apparently involved in a certain Xbox title that I own. Doesn't have Clover Studios plastered anywhere on it, though. (Hint: HUGE, EXPENSIVE CONTROLLER REQUIRED TO PLAY.)
The only game from Clover that i played is God Hand. Well i REALLY liked that game ! It doesn't have much variation but it's Lots of FUN ! I beated it yesterday on easy, and i was really hard, but not frustrating ! For me, God Hand is one of the best beat'em'up i ever played !
this is an oppinion board an quite frankly you have all the right in the world to dislike a game...but to go around saying people don't have taste...that's just tasteless and quite insulting. you should fundament and back up your arguments but respect other people's right to disagree...that's what makes a healthy discussion. i don't agree with abbandon's oppinions i think he went a bit out of the way with the "flaming turd" comment, but still i just try to counter his poorly grounded arguments with some of my own, instead of making it "personal".

Thanks for that well thought out post, dont mind abandon too much, he gets a bit emo when it comes to critisising games. He never goes much into detail if he played a game and why he hated it so i usually just ignore his "review" posts :)
TBH i find it hard to recomend god hand to anyone, i know that i like it but then again i have a very diverent taste than my friends. (i cant stand GTA:VC for instance.)
Eh why talk about the details when people will just argue with you. If I say I hated god hand because of the god awful controls, the lame graphics, and the horrendous difficulty and you completely disagree who is right? We are right back where we started with i think the game sucks and you dont.
Okami did indeed play very much like zelda and I have mentioned that very fact in responding to individual's posts and in my official review of the game.
it's not a question of who's right or wrong when it comes to personal oppinions...what realy stressed me was the "this poster has bad taste" remark and wasn't you who posted it. I have no problem with you or your preferences and oppinions about games that i like very much. lets just continue talking about what we are here to talk about: games
