I never got into the God of War series and I want to play the second one. Do you think I can get away without playing the 1st one? Or will I be completely lost with the story if I just play the 2nd one? Thanks

hmm.. i think it would be better ifu play the 1st game, coz the 2nd one started right after the ending of the 1st one, quite literally i'd say..

No, you won't be lost. The story is pretty simple. The two games are very similiar, and GoW is a very good game too and you shouldn't miss out on it. Plus it's only 20 bucks.

You should play the first part to understand the main character more. Why he does the things he does in part 2 is all based on happenings of the first part.

Yea you should. The story in the first game is a direct continuation to the second. Its exactly a direct-sequel. You'll be missing out on the story(though not at a complete lost).

So play GoW1 first.

If you don't play the first one, you would be missing out on a great game, but it isn't needed. I would say play both.

Yeah they usually release the first one for you to play, so that when you get the second one, you play the second one after the first one, because one comes before two. >__>

Don't have to but you after you beat GOW2, i know you'll go to GOW1, so why not just play GOW1 first to get the story down.

Plus, the first one is short...should only take you 8 hours or so.

And it's cheap too.

Yep, you have to play the first GOW in order to play the second or else you will be lost.
