dude, you're not even a real gamer, get off the message boards. can't believe someone mentioned this game today... i just put my ps3 to good use 2 days ago to relive this classic, serious as a heart attack. without doubt, one of THE greatest games ever created. how dope would that be if they remade it for the ps3 using the tech demo engine they showed off a while back? it might take another 5 years to make, but it would be...unreal....
its the better final fantasy ever because its the first one when fully 3d engine , and i have the event why its the best one , because they make a movie about it and and independent game u play it on the charactter Vincinte , i hope everyone watch the movie its so nice
Oh please, it's just nostalgia doing the talk. I was once in your position, I thought the game was one of the best. But, that was when I was only 13, now, I don't think its that great of a game anymore. Simply because the older versions as well as the later ones (minus X) are better.

i think FFIII's the best in the series, not graphically but still it depends if you like sprites or 3d anyway people judge games by graphics this days. but in terms of story line 7 doesnt stand to 3, the cast of characters like 12 of them are all interesting. well sephiroth is a kick ass villain for sure but the movie is overated, too much emo man and the story dragged unless if youre a fanboy!

I hate how trash (In my own opinion) like Final Fantasy VII is praised, yet Final Fantasy IX or VIÂ is ignored.

I agree, Final fantasy IX is one of my favorite games ever, next to Chrono Cross, but Final Fantasy VIIÂ isn't really all that great. It's a good game, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't really consider it the greatest game ever made.
I'm guessing I'm older than the average person on here, so a lot of people may not agree with me on this one but.......  For it's time, FF2 was incredible and in my opinion, the best one of the series.  They're all awesome, and all of them are must owns, but here's my rankings:

Zack was the one fighting sepiroth at the mako reactor while cloud was psyching out. Cloud projected zacks image onto himself partially due to exhaustion and mako withrawal wich really messed up his mind.
I need someone to explain to me why FFX is such a popular game. I gave it a chance, played for about 30 hours before I quit out of boredom. Way too linear for a FF in my opinion. That's what I loved about the old installments.. the freedom to look around, explore, etc.. I don't want to trash FFX, I'm just curious to hear why you like it.
I think FFVII will remain an all-time classic on the Playstation. But FFVI is still my favorite after all these years. I think it just has the best music, best characters, great story, and awesome secrets and sidequests.
