I've finished DMC 3 couple of months ago,and right now I'm playing DMC(the first one)..I was wondering why the hell that the game is so much more harder than it's sequel..I can't seem to get through the part where you have to race against time to put the orb or something at the door, and you are slowed down by a cat-like-shadow enemy!man,I was so frustrated that I give up playing!!DAMN,why don't they make a game with a mediocre difficulty, instead of making one like this..If this is the normal difficulty,I can't imagine how the game would be like at the hardest level(DMD)!!some of the games I bought are just plain hard and I stopped playing since I can't get through..I just wanna enjoy some game with decent difficulty.. :( weijie86
It's funny, that mission I S ranked on my first run... it's not THAT difficult. However, it depends on how you attack the Shadow. Are you aware that you gotta shoot them and after they reveal their core you slash it??
And btw, DMD... there's a boss that I honestly think it's the hardest boss in the entire DMC series (it really makes honor to his name: Nightmare V3)
Keep in mind that the original Devil May Cry was designed by Shinji Mikami, and he hates everything, especially his fans. His games have always been difficult, some more than others, and the "optional goals" have always been impossible (literally). After Devil May Cry, though, Mikami (and Production Studio 4) moved over to the GameCube for the Resident Evil games, and Capcom assigned Production Studio 1 to produce sequels for the DMC series. Personally, I think DMC3 is Production Studio 1's best work. (That's not saying much, though, considering Production Studio 1's horrible track record. Nevertheless, they did something right with DMC3.) Devil May Cry 3 is indeed easier than an actual Mikami game, but that's not a bad thing.Pumster76
Hey I had no idea about this!!I've heard of his name before but I don't know that he is famous for this kind of thing..well since you mentioned optional quest,I remembered one where you need to eliminate 100 phantom babies in 30 seconds!!that's insane,if the thing is static then it may be possible to get it done, but since the damn thing is crawling all over the hall, chasing it and stepping it is another matter!!Shinji-san sure is one hell of a game designer!!I've never had such a hard time with a game before!!
[QUOTE="rohver"]I never made past the hard difficulty in DMC 1 :( weijie86at least you made it past the normal mode....

Try playing it on easy. I beated the game on easy without any problems. By the Way i think DMC3(the original, not the se) is WAY too harder on easy than the first one. And i love DMC1. The only annoying think i found is the camera - very bad. Beside this, everything else is perfect.
