Games that defined the PS2

With the PS2 reaching it's life cycle ( even though it's still selling like hot s@#t)

 What game or games defined the PS2? much like MGS and FFVII defined the PSone, or how Zelda OC defined the N64 and Halo defined the Xbox.

In my opinion the games that really define the PS2 are the GTA games as they were the best games for the system along with the fact that they were perfected on the PS2.  

Some of the best games for the PS2 were the DMC and GTA series, but as far as a mascot for Sony, they are yet to come up with one that defines them. Only reason they don't have one is because they don't have an exclusive game like Micro. Nintendo and Sega do. All the games on the market for the PS2 are also available for the rest of the consoles. And that limits the characters that can be associated with Sony alone.

Gta series or MGS

Sony still doesn't have an instantly recognized mascot to define their brand, though. Nintendo has Mario, Sega had Sonic, Microsoft has Master Chief... Sony has the likes of Jak and Ratchet but it's not the same.Shut_Me_Up

During the year 2001, I was BLOWN AWAY by three games, and their superiority to anything before them on the ps2 still sticks with me.

 These games are: Grand Theft Auto 3, Gran Turismo 3, Metal Gear Sold 2: Sons of Liberty - They defined the ps2.

Final Fantasy X  - The graphics were truly amazing, the voiceover were decent, & the facial expression on the characters face were amazing.

MGS 2 - Even though ppl hate this game because the main character is Raiden, the storyline, graphics, gameplay, & voiceover are some of the best ever on a video game.  This game truly lived up to the hype.

GTA III - The first game to ever start the  3D sandbox gameplay was awesome.  Total freedom to do anything & go anywhere.  Nice storyline & voiceover make this game a masterpiece. 

Shawdow of the Coloususs - Whoever haven't play this game yet should pick it up right away.  Climbing on top of a huge coloususs & then bringing it down is the best moment ever.  The graphics are a piece of art.

Devil May Cry -  DMC put you in control of Dante.  One of the coolest character ever.  Ever moves in this game are awesome.  From throwing you enimies into mid air & shooting him in the air to turning into a devil is just awesome.  This is the best action game for the PS2.

Tekken 5 - Even though I'm a huge fan of Virtual Fighter 4: Evolution, Tekken 5 is simply the best fighting game on the PS2.  Perfect graphics, environments damage, gameplay, customization of characters, ect.  This is the best Tekken so far.  Plus Devil Jin is a badass.
