Hmm....it used to be a given for the Knights of the Round, but with the newer games out it's more difficult. Especially FFX. Eden was pretty powerful once maxed out. The Magus Sisters were really powerful, as well as Yojimbo and Bahamut (FFX). I'll go with Bahamut or the Yojimbo.
Anima from FFX, coolest summon ever! Followed closely by Diablo from FFVIII.
All aeons in FFX are equally powerful if you obtained all the items for main characters' weapons to break the 9999-hit limit, they also breaks aeons' attack limit.
Eden from FFVIII is quite powerful, but I think Kinghts of the Round from FFVII takes the cake!
i remembered battling that malboro monster in FF8, i was completing quistis' ultimate weapon, it struck a whole lot of status ailments on me and i was about to die. then i started retreating from the battle when suddenly ODIN came and made sushi out of malboro! it was awesome! i completed quistis weapon and never forgot ODIN ever since. so for me ODIN rocks!
Ultima (FF12 and tactics advance) is the best summon design from any FF game, though i was very dissapointed when the 9999 damage limit showed in her limit ability (obviously in FF12) Schaton, (How can be posible that such a magnificent power have human like limitations, ridiculous, the biggest mistake from ff12). However, knight of round really surprised me with his 13 consecutive attacks of almost 9999 damage points, as well as the ability to ignore defenses, surely the most overpowered being (be boss, summon, or Weapon...) in the FF world.Â
from FFVIII. Sometimes when ur fighting a regular enemies he comes out and assist u with a single attack that completely destroys them.

He saved me a lot of times from marlboros. Gilgamesh, on the other hand, is far less reliable. There is also a way to improve your relation with Odin, in order for him to appear more regularly, but I dont remeber how it was done.
I don't know most of the summons you menction, but out of the ones I know, The Magus Sisters are the most powerful Though my favorite (looks) is Bahamut...
KOTR and bahamut in ffx was pretty cool. i don't recall getting all of the summons back i n10. i'm almost done getting all the summons in ff12 though, need 3 more i think.
Atomos destroyed a town, Odin blew up a town, Knights of the Round is quite useful, Alexander's holy summon in FFIX (However short) was pretty neat to watch...its so hard to choose :cry:
