I think thats the one that was just recently released.

How is it? Would it appeal to me as a JRPG fan, despite what some sites may have given it? (JRPGs tend toscore lower because they only appeal to people who enjoy the genre.)

As far as being rare i'm guessing yea, i'm not sure if there's a basic copy as the one i got came with a load of neat little trinkets in a collectors box. Game-play wise you control the main character freely but can only issue commands to the others, combat is free and not turn based but seems turned based when using mostly magic. Its not one of the greatest but still not as bad as some people are saying.

If I'm not mistaken Growlanser: Heritage of War is actually part 5, Growlanser I and IV unfortunately were never released in the US. I wish they would release them here.

It will probably be pretty rare, there's only going to be a one print run. And yes, it was the 5th one that was just released. 1 and 4 were never translated. 6 is already out in Japan and is a direct sequel, so I hope they will bring that over too.

It's good but only after you get to the nameable character. The stuff before that gives a bad first impression. But it all comes to gether eventually. It's actually a pretty good game once you get thru the opening parts.

yeah Heritage of War is actually part 5, part 1 and 4 were never released in America unfortunately and Generations consists of parts 2 and 3. I'd have to agree though the beginning part is terrible and as a JRPG fan you should like it as long as you like SRPG's as well. I don't mind it but the beginning wasn't anything particularly amazing and I'm playing other games so I'll get back to it shortly.
