Both worth havin'... get 'em both for the songs. The second volume is harder and has better multiplayer options, but you'll eventually want both of the games just so that you have a large library to pick songs from. "Encore Rocks The 80s" is garbage, don't bother with it. The versions of the songs suck and there are too few of them, no unlockables to speak of.
While we're on the subject what's the deal with the guitars? i mean I see they sell the games by themselves without the guitars so do you need just one for both games is there a reason to get the guitar for 2 for example if you have the 1st one or does it just look different?
i orginally was gonna get guitar hero 1...but the people who sent me the game sent me guitar hero 2 instead...at first i was a bit annoyed but once i started i found it very fun so i think 2 is better

I have only played like 1 or 2 songs on GH1 and I've played a lot of Gh2 at my cousins. The only difference I know of is the songs. I'm going to get GH3 first and then GH2, GH1, GH80s, and Rock Band (not in that order).

Rock Band i am hoping will come out on PS2 but it doesnt look like it will happen.
