First time I played God mode I finished it in 6 hours 11 minutes.God mode is'nt hard.Play decisively like how you play Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden. Upgrade Posiedon's Rage fully before upgrading others (upgrade Blades Of Chaos till lvl 3 then upgrade Medusa's Gaze to lvl 2.Then upgrade the Blades Of Chaos till lvl 5 and make sure you lvl up Army Of Hades once you recieve it.) Poseidon's Rage works wonders on enemies at the beginning and will throughout the whole game.And I suggest you read keltin_2002 's excellent Max Upgrade guide here : http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/919864.html I read that whole guide when I played God Of War for the first time in Spartan difficulty.It helped ease up Spartan a LOT and will ease up God Mode a lot too.
The clones are ridiculously easy on God Mode.Enter the battle with full magic (I mean FULL - not a single bit less unless you want a death wish) and catch the first clone with ( ) then grab the others till your family's health is at 1/4 its total.Use Rage Of The Gods, then Army Of Hades and Poseidon's Rage till Rage Of The Gods runs out.Now use Army Of Hades (this will be from your own magic bar.) then grab your family and HOLD ( ) .Once your family has been healed (you'll have filled 3/4 of Rage Of The Gods) use the [] hold [] combo till your family's health drops till 1/4.Use Army Of Hades and grab your family till your Rage Of The Gods fills up fully.Now use Poseidon's Rage, quickly change to Army Of Hades and then keep using Poseidon's Rage till Rage Of The Gods is over.Now during the time you were in Rage Of The Gods form, you no doubt would have your atleast 3/4 of your magic bar.Keep using Poseidon's Rage until your whole magic bar drains.Now the clones will start spawning slowly.Just grab them with ( ) and keep doing that tilll you finish the battle.With this strategy you can finish the battle in 4 maybe 6 minutes.
Just try fighting the clones in a No Upgrade Run in God Mode... (shudders)
