Bought my PS2 about 3 years ago, but I got a new one because there was something wrong with the first.. So the one I have now is about 1-1,5 years old, I think...
If anyone cares,   I got a fatty one with the network adaptor attached. I believe it was the 2nd version of PS2. I got it 3 years ago. More of, I won it. All i had to do was buy lottery tickets, and I paid $40 for it, and the money went to Miss Deaf New Jersey Pageant fund. The guy that was able to get the Playstation 2, 6 games, two controllers, DVD remote, and two memory cards....got it for free as he used to work for Sony. He's my boyfriend now. LOL. Isn't life ironic?
   It's still in a great shape, despite moving 3 times, thrown up on (my cat had hairball right on the console), and abandoning it for a few months. :-)
I've had two fatties - the first one I bought in March 2001, and lasted until late 2003. I didn't replace it until a few months into 2004, but that one is still going strong.
I've had a fat one since launch. In 2002 i went to wally world and got it exchanged for another since rarely would games work. I would get a slim model, but its too hard to get imported games working on them.
2001 - I had to replace one that overheated in the first month.
But the one I have now is going on to the ripe age of 6 years. I can guestimate that I have logged over 610 hours on this machine.Â
Now that's what I call a good investment!
However that isn't going to make me get a PS3 any year soon. :roll: leaguer1
Cant be serious only 610hours in 6 years i had like 330hours just on socom alone must be miscalulating and by the way i have had my ps2 since april of 2002 and i have only had to have lens replaced about two years ago
I had mine since 2001 and only recently had problems with it playing newer games. I couldn't for the life of me get God of War to play on it. So I got a PS3 to play all the games that would't play on my PS2. Stupid HUH?
My dad got me one in '02 or '03 I think. But it had dust problems so he gave me his so he could get Xbox. I think he got his a few months after they came out. It still works very well.
me and my slim have been happily joined at the hip for 2 years...it would have been four with my fat one if it hadn't gone on to refuse to play my games
I've had mine from about a week after launch of the ps2. No major problems, only needed to clean the lens after DRE's started becoming overwhelming o_o;
