question is Final Fanasy Anime? i see all this ff merch at anime stores and see people cosplaying as ff characters at anime expo, and I hear a few people saying its Anime I am confused, since none of the FF before 7 look like anime. the ones before look more medeval not like anime. my friends states "it's FF is not ANIME" since he hates anime I search for answers. p.s was chrono trigger anime as well? please answer best to your knowledge is FF anime looking?
Not really, well except Final Fantasy Unlimited and Last Order: Final Fantasy. Hard to tell what makes something anime though, I mean, it's not just the graphical style, it's characters and dialogues, etc.
The games are not anime. Some of the games' merchandise (such as artbooks and stuff) are drawn in an anime/manga fashion. Nonetheless, there ARE anime series of the FF games (such as FF:Last Order and FF:Unlimited).
Maybe some characters may like anime-ish, but it's not anime. Also, in Japan, the latest trends for hairstyles are long and "messy". They use weird wax or something like Gatsby.. :D Just trying to say something different :)
