if you can get them FF7 and 8 are the best. if you like them play Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, some of the characters show up and are better than they are in FF.
I've never played it either mainly because I have never liked RPG's, I find them very boring. I've been thinking about starting the series but the insane number of games has just put me off, just dont know where to start and how to get into the story.
you dont have to worry about missing anything cause you can start playing the series any time you want cause every game follows their own story but if you want you can start from the beginning whatever you want to do with it
FF10 is a great place to start. It has one of the best stories and mini games out of all of them. FF12 is also pretty cool, though it would help to get used to that kind of game first. So, start with 10 if you haven't played any so far.Each game is stand alone, so it won't matter were you start, 12 is just more complex.
