Even though I have every game of each series, I would like an oppinion.
onimushi for sure, the graphics are cooler, the story is worlds better, there is more exploration, and a solid fighting mechanic.
Although onimusha 1+2 are way different from 3+4 but both sides were good.
DMC had its moments, but it was kind of limited in scope, and it was annoying how you had to fight every boss in the game over and over again.  In DMC 3 they send so many enemies after you that you get annoyed and just want the fighting to stop so you can look around, but there isnt much to look at when you do get the chance.
Onimusha really isnt much easier than dmc though, I broke a controller with oni out of frustration at one point, but the setting and music sure give it the edge.  As well as the fact that the hero isnt a whiny brat.
Â
Oh and you can play the game in a panda suit!!!!!! Â
wow...
i really cant decide between those...
i loved the whole DMC series...
i kinda hated Onimusha 1 and 2, but 3 and 4 were awesome...
comparing between Onimusha 3 & 4 to the whole DMC series (1,2,3)...
hmmm...
sorry, i have to go with both since they have their way of gameplay which makes them awesome in their own way...
I think the first DMC game alone owns all 4 of the Onimusha games with a passion, let alone comparing DMC3 with the Oni games. You can't even jump in Onimusha for Christ's sake... DMC combat has a depth that Onimusha can only hope to match.Rock-City
Onimusha has never been about jumping.
If you are about get hit by an enemy, one should be skilled enough to Issen. That pretty much eliminates any need to jump.
As for my opinion on the matter, why compare the two? In my mind they are both excellent, but extremely different.

Let me state it another way so my point doesn't completetly fly over your head again....
You can't jump in Onimusha, therefore aerial combat is pretty much non-existent. DMC is about a blend of ground and aerial based combat....comprende? More depth... nuff said. And by your "issen" terminology, I assume you mean the defensive and offensive countering kills? My answer to that: Royal Guard style in DMC3.

PS2to-the-end
Onimusha was awesome and so was devil may cry, but them one hit kills and chain one hit kills was amazing in the onimusha game play and made me love onimusha alot more. I truelly think that capcom gave devil may cry 4 up as a exclusive for the ps3 but will repay them back by leaving the next onimusha and okami as ps3 exclusives. If not then I guess they dont have no loyalty in all for sony and us loyal consumers of there games.

thats a joke right ? have you even played onimusha and beat them, let alone onimusha 4 which is one of the most amazing ps2 games ever, one of the best endings ever IMO, the ending and the boss battle was so amazing. DMC3 ending was a bit anticlimactic, the 1st one is still the best IMO. they keep trying to recreate that but it never works for them, maybe theyll get it right on DMC4 but i doubt it, they have to worry about porting to 360Â now. and onimusha 2 is amazing as well, 4 and 2 just pwn. but i like DMC as well they just cant outdo part 1 it seems.[QUOTE="PS2to-the-end"]Even though I have every game of each series, I would like an oppinion.
