started about a month ago. I have had my PS2 for about 4 years now, i was playing some kingdom hearts and it just started buzzing, now i have to literally pick up my PS2 and hit it against the ground. Happens during loading screen and when i put a new disc in. Whats wrong with my PS2. :(

Well if you had it for over 4 years now i suggest opening your ps2 and clean the damn dust. There must be pounds of dust in there and its most likely the fan working overtime to keep the ps2 cool because the dust is interfering with the fan and the air cant travel nicely around your console. I had the same problem with my PS2 but when i opened it and cleaned the dust the fan started to be quite again and i even noticed better FPS that my ps2 got.

Also its a good idea you check that something hasnt broken off and maybe thats making the buzzing noise but its mostly likely the fan making that noise.

That happens with mine too, but to fix it all I have to do is wiggle the wire with the three colored things (i forget what its called right now.. memory blank:|) and it goes away

Not sure, but I dont think hitting against the ground is a good idea. My PS2 died last month after 4-5 years of use.

I think the disk motor might be jamming, which would explain why itmakes the buzzing noise andscrews up during loading time and when you put a new disk in, cuz thats when the disk has to spin to be read.

I recently bought the slim ps2 I had the old version since 2003 and also have a couple of friends who had the old version but when your ps2 starts making that sound it means it has about 4 to 6 month of life left it happened to me before and it happened to my friends too so i suggest you buy a new ps2 or a ps3 ...
