PS2 is dead.

Ok, few games are coming out these days but there are SO many games at it's library, just browse the reviews here at Gamespot!!! 8)

lets just say that the v9 and older models of ps2 is about to die in the upcoming year if theres more double layer games coming out, I personally expect that there areA lotof dvd9 games coming out which those "Big Version" consolesDoes'nt support, like mine..

I think that in about 2-3 years ps2 will die since the new games are coming to xbox360 & ps3 (whichSony made to compete with xbox360...) also people will go and buy Wii for its remote controls which I think people will like more than a wired controller with to joysticks...

Also, there'sAlotwhich wanna make people go for other consoles such as devil may cry 4, metal gear solid 4, and something make me shout to myself "WHAT?!" when Ive first seen the ace combat 6 will come out for xbox360...

Although Ive expecting some companies to continue with the ps2 such as EA, which making they're next need for speed for ps2 too...

Summing up:the ps2 has about 3-4½ years to live... unelse your console will break up sooner :D

Besides, it wasn't too long ago that I went through my junk and found my blue memory card for the PS1!!! I mean, sure, that thing is down to 'RestHome' status, but 'Corpse' is more for... I dunno, Atari stuff. Those ping-pong/tennis things they programmed in Bill Gates' day.
Now, THAT is dead.

Sure, PS2 is somewhere between 'Old Hat' and '5 Minutes Ago', but its not even 'DonateMe' level! (I'm starting to have fun here). And yeah, PS3 is so high that we've yet to think of a label (how about the impressive - if not disturbing - 'Splounched'?). The MustHave. The GottaGet. The Cheese with the Cracker. The Cake with the Icing. And many other more horrible analogies.

PS2 is not dead! PS1 ceratinly is far enough there isn't even a TAB for it on GameSpot...

The PS2 will be dead in a few more years. Right now it's got such a huge library and so many people still own one and the PS3 isn't selling like it was supposed too. PlasmaBeam44

I must concur. As long as the top notch games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5 have made their mark on the next generation console, the PS2 will remain to have a following. I still have to start playing some games on the PS 2 I haven't gotten around starting with.

Well, I got Jackass the game two days ago, so it's not that dead...

And you would be suprised, consoles like the NES are not dead, people are still buying crap for it.

Of course the PS2 it's not dead! I have 50 games, and there are like 27 that I still want... like Persona 3, Odin Sphere, and many more!

I still play online Phantasy Star Universe, and there are games that are still unopened! How can you say that?

It's funny that comment that someone made: "the PS2 will make history winning 2 console wars"

just play the games that you didn't get when they first came out.

There are 100s of gems, i doubt you have played them all.
