i remember which colossi your talking about, but sadly i forget the method to beat him. Anyways, all your needs can be met here. just search shadow of the colossus and look through one of the walkthroughs.
Look around the arena and you should see four hills sticking out of the ground. Make the colossi see you and run to the opposite side of one of the hills. There should be an entrance that leads underground. Follow the tunnel until you come out from the other side. you should see the collossus slumped over with his back facing you, if its not just wait. Once its like that run and jump on its back. Then, you should know what to do
Eerr... is it just me or none of the Colossi looks like a spider?? I mean the 4 legged ones are: the bull, the horse and the turtle... which one is the spider??
i remember one where you had to lead one to a hole in the ground and a guiser would spring up and liftthe collosous on 2 legs while you had to shoot his other foot with a bow and then would flip over
the problem with gamefaqs is that when you there to look something specific up you get a whole lot of other crap spoiled. I dont think there is anything wrong with asking specific questions.
I guessing you mean the turtle (big four legged creature that has a shell, fires lightning from its mouth and has a soft underbelly.)
To defeat the turtle: use your horse to dodge the lightning and draw it out of the cave. There should be geysers dotted through out the plains you need to get the turtle to stand over one as it errupts, once that happens it willbe close to falling on its back. You then need to shoot its feet (weak spot) in order to topple it, once you've done that its easy to run around to its shell and climb up (this must be done before it rights itself. everything after that is obvious, find weak points and hack hack hack.

you have to get a fair distance away from it before it starts followingyou outta the cave. Also try shooting a few arrows into it's belly before you start drawing it out, make it angry.
Its only weakpoint (in normal atleast) is on teh back of his head, i spend a good 20 min searching his tummy only to get knocked off as it stood up lol.
1. Lure it over a geyser 2. Shoot its paws as its being lifted into the air 3. Climb its belly to its back 4. W8 for him to get back on his feet and continue to its head
Got the game yesterday and already on the 11th collosi, this game is pretty amazing every time ya think youve seen eveything something new pops up Wild forests, open plains, dry canyons, open deserts, swamps, stalactite filled caves and underground structures. Just amazing how much there is to see and new unexplored terain still lies at every corner.

Well alot of the colossis are rather predictable (blinding the worm so it smashes into a wall) however the only reason why they are predictable is because we have already seen these same puzzles repeated over and over in divrentgames (and movies).
So for someone that does not play alot of games or normally avoids puzzle games yes i could see how someone can get stuck in SoTC
I got stuck on the secondlast one mostly because i never let him get close enough to me to do that stamping move (that was required to allow me to climb up)I spent hours jumping for the ledges that were just out of reach.

:D Now im stuck too at colossus 12, need to go to higher ground before i can attack the collosus or so the voice says (12 is the sharpshooter in the water reservoir.)
Get on top of one of those structures along the lake and hide. He will get close trying to look for you... make a run and jump straight to him so you land on his belly... now all you have to do is stab the sucker.
