sure, why not:) but if your expecting the same quality gameplay as DMC, you might be dissapointeddante_123456
I agree with this guy to a point. DMC and DMC3 are combat focused, meaning that this is the primary routine of the game's experience. Puzzle solving takes a backseat to the fighting. GOW is not as combat focused. It's already been widely discussed about how GOW's combat engine falls flat when compared to the robust style that the DMC3 engine uses. DMC3 is a much deeper action game based on its weaponry and the ability for the character to alternate between six play styles. The topic starter saying that GOW is a better conceived franchise is about as accurate as trying to read in a dark room. GOW mixes in good (albeit prone to button-mashing as GS editors have stated) fighting gameplay, time-based mini games that will allow you to finish off, or be punished by enemies intergrated in its combat, has good puzzle design and a short quest. Imo, GOW1 is just a decent experience.
Imo the first GOW game is overrated. It has a superficial quest with limited bosses. Unless you play on a higher difficulty, you'll get no challenge from the game. It's only standout quality is the story behind the madness; leagues better than any DMC game, and most games in this genre on PS2.
GOW ain't the best game, and it ain't the worst. I'd get GOW1 for the sake of GOW2. It's core fighting style is slightly improved from the first, (you can now switch melee weapons in mid combo for a continuous string) and GOW2 is a good game with a great quest and a great story.
