so i just beat thpg. it was ok. like when you order a hamburger but they bring you a cheese burger. youll eat it, but youre not happy with it. to begin, i will rant about all the crappy stuff that wasnt in the game, then ill move on to all the crappy stuff that was in the game. when i heard about thpg, i was freakin stoked. but low and behold, neversoft fell short. nail the manual? not there. awesome gaps? not there. amazing graffics that would make skate going running to its skank of a mother? not there. pole climbing (even though i didnt hear about it until halfway through the game)? there, but really freakin crappy. granted, nail the grab and nail the trick were tight. i liked the body rotation and the trucks up branching; much better than thp8. thpg did also have a killer soundtrack. the create-a-skater was better than its predecessor's. i enjoyed the miscellaneous category. but all of the goals in thpg were way too easy. not only that, there were very few goals. the game was too easy to beat and didnt take long enough. the only gaol was was even compatible with the goals of thps' past (as in underground) was the last one for rigger. speaking of which, rigger was gay it took too long to set up the pieces. i have a short attention span and i did not like rigger for the same reasons i did not like create-a-park in previous games. i am glad that this feature was not in thpg. back to the rigger uber goal, it was very easy except for the last little bit when you have to find bam way up in the rafters. for all you newbs (as i once was) you climb up the black stuff on the wall that you are initially facing. dont forget R1 retard then jump and press R1 to get on the rafter. stay in hang position and shimmy to bam. press down when you get to him and you will drop off. My Epiphany: if one wants good games in a technologically hasty world, one cannot just sitteth on their butt and wait for the game to come out on their old, last season, last generation, piece of crap platform. Because, as in this case, some unknown production company will make it (because the normal one refuses to step down and work for last years system) and will screw it up. in order to keep up with new games, i am afraid that you have to keep up with new systems. i am sorry to say, but the time has come. we have to spend money again to get entertainment. thus will sustain us for about half a year, then the whole process will start over again. I wouldnt say it is completly dead cause i among quite a few others still enjoy playing the tony hawk games even though skate is like 3 times better. Actually Skate is missing a few things that tony hawk has and that Skate needs so they should address that issue in the sequel.
sorry if i insulted anyone. i was angry at the outcome of thpg and the entire line of ps2 everything. does that make sense? i dont think it does. oh well. i just needed a way to take out my anger without flying to tokyo and burning the city down.
