Was at an EB games a few weeks back and overheard the clerk tell a customer that sometime this year PS2 games will stop being made. Anyone know a specific date when this will take place?
Bonkers, full of bonkers. PS2 games will continue to be produce until there is no more intrest in the hardware. The clerk is trying to tell the customer to upgrade so he or she is fooled to go next gen and buy sub par games for much higher prices.
There will be demand for PS2 for another couple of years at least, I myself have just ordered a slim PS2 again. Regardless of how many more classics come out, the PS2's catalogue is the most impressive since the Super Nintendo.
Just hope they dont forget about us down here... in my country(Brazil), we dont have acces to next gen consoles...well, we actually have, but its difficult to pay, they're too expensive due to importation taxes... so ps2 is the one everyone has around this parts...

ps2 has gaming production until 2009, this is the last big year for the ps2, so i'm thinking that it will cut it short. so i'm expecting gaming production to end late 2008

I would have boughten a fatty if they had the network adapters built in. I really want a fan in my slim, thing's going to melt soon.
