I haven't been playing many games, recently. However, I am getting back into gaming and there are plenty of games I want that I haven't yet purchased. That is why I still play PS2 games.
Well, it's mostly because it's much simplier and it stills works fine and it can hold both PS1 games and Ps2 games, buying the stuff is cheaper, you get the best games, FF fanboys cant avoid buying it, Guitar Hero is available here, and it goes like this for a bunch of other arguments
PS2 still rocks . and also Xbox360 and PS3 market is not still very high . but later in a year or so PS2 will become less .Iam still playing Games beacuse i love them and PS2 still rocks .
While there are unplayed games out there, a player will seek to try them out. I'd take a good game over good graphics any day.vandimer
I totally agree. And I prefer graphicsof RE4, MG3, Hitman Blood Money, and Rogue Galaxy than the graphics of Halo 3, Heavenly Sword, Gears of War, Oblivion, etc.
Because I play all my games on it and I don't have a PS3. I still even play the SNES when I want sumthing retro (Killer Instinct to Mario) just like that.
Well.. Because unlike some people, I am a poor bastard! I'm not dishing out hundreds of dollars just to have some improved graphics. Sure the games look better, but Ps2 is my generation. It's like that old friend you've known for years. Why betray him now for those rich snobs Ps3 and 360.
Because my 360 has the Red Ring of Death and my PS2 actuall works! Not to mention that Killzone, San Andreas, God of War, and at least a hundred other games for PS2 still rock.
It's the only system I have ( next to my xbox,gc) that has any decent games I can play my fave series (final fantasy) and it's just a great system all around. Plus I can't afford those super-expensive next-gen systems and the wii just doesn't look like it would be any fun.
Because they're good, and I'm in college,years from having enough money to afford the new stuff unless a huge price drop sets in. Already told myself I'm not going next gen and just shoring up my collections. The DS still has new stuff coming out, sadly can't afford most of that either. Have to wait till summer, maybe a job'll get me those ds games I would have gotten already, Phantom Hourglass and Front Mission you know who you are. Plus they are still making some good ps2 games, and being an rpg fan there's always some old or new game I've missed picking up. Sorry, FF13 I think this is where we part ways.
Yup, thats the worst part about new gen consoles, they lost their charm, and they are SO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!! Gah!!!!!!! Its so hard to watch all of the awesome videos and such for the next gen, and i hate how i stand around on the(now) old PS2, and watch the new awesome games like Halo 3, the Gundam for PS3, and the new super smash bros brawl.......its so sad to watch the power of the PS2 slip from your grasp.........sigh:cry:
I think people continue to play PS2 games because there are so many good IP's like God of War and Shadow of the Colossus i have a Playstation 3 and i play more PS2 games on it then i do PS3
Well first of all, I have a 360 and I do play it, but I also still play my PS2 alot because there are still games coming out for it, thanks alot to the Wii, and there are still so many games I have not played because there are like 3,000 games, and so many of the ones I have wanted to play span all the way back to the PS2 launch, and you can get a lot of games for $5 used. Like I got Onimusha 1, 2, and 3 for just over $15, and I really enjoyed it and it kept me busy for along time. You see, with so many games, you can get so many of them that you missed or never had a chance to get to, while they still bring out new ones, Like call me crazy, but I am gonna pick up dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi on the 14th and guess what, its only gonna be $40, and that game will keep me busy through the holiday seasons. There is still lots of value in a PS2 and it should be that way for the next $10 years or so, This is how it is at the end of every console's life and afterlife, you just start buying games that you never got to play for very cheap, and buy games that you would like to own just to own them.

PS2 is still my console of choice. I have over 30 games for it (im picky about which ones I get). No other system has even come close to that number. I still play it because it has some of the best games Ive ever played. And plus those SRPG's that you can play for months help that.
The other new consoles are still young, and for my tastes nothing much has come out as of yet.
I still play on my PS2 because i haven't even gotten my hands on all the games i want to play for the console yet. I started playing the PS2 seriously quite late. For example i haven't played RE 4 yet ;)
