will this cable provide a really good HD Picture for my Daenyx 26" LCD HDTV while playing PS3? I also heard PS3 HDMI cables should be at 6 Feet or below to get long lasting quality? is that true? I've already ordered this 10 Fee Cable, just wondering if anyone can give me some insights about HDMI Cables. Thanks.
i'm not too sure about an hdmi needing to be 6ft or more to be long lasting....i have had a 3 foot for about 2 years now and haven't had any problem with it.

6 Feet or LESS is what everyone is saying .. don't know if that is true, if it is, my 10 Feet cable will probably last for about few weeks then :(
You can get 3ft ones on ebay or at the electronics stores Mine is 1.8 metres so 6ft. I haven't heard anything about having a shorter cable. My ps3 doesn't sit right beside my tv though I would like to change that. You usually want to get a shorter hdmi cable because traditionally it has been expensive so you're saving money by buying a shorter one. However, it seems you can get cheaper ones now, though it's just something I wouldn't buy as cheaply as I could. I remember being able to see the difference between cheap and slightly more expensive s-video cables. I just got the Asis (?) one, the one that is always advertised with the ps3
you only need HDMI cable if your TV is capable and has a slot for it and you want to watch it in the highest HD settings. the ps3 does come with composite cables for standard televisions.
This is still up for debate for sure, from what I have seen on avsforum is 10 feet or less, any quality cable will work well and last a LONG time. Over ten feet, and monoprice cables (which I use) don't hold the signal as well. Yes it is a Off/On situation, but over ten feet and "off" will happen quicker than it would with quality cables.
The 6ft issue is as follows (hdmi.org - reliable enough as source?) - if the cable is not rated for higher speeds it will still provide you a 1080p picture if it is 6ft or less. If it is longer it MAY not provide a full 1080p picture as good as a cable rated for higher speeds. Yours has been tested for higher speeds (1.3) and is such fine...
I got in on a huge debate on HDMI cables on the Circuit City forums,some guys from CC always way in and give there opinions. So it started like this. Do you need those $100 Monster HDMI cables? Well what I think is if you stay 6 feet and under then no they all should work fine,,then a guy from CC brought in a guy from Monster cable yep,,Monster cable of course he argued that all Monster cables were better then others,,and going over 6 feet then you really needed Monster cable because of the insulating stuff they put in the cables,keeps out interference. When it comes down to it there all gonna work,6 feet or under or 6 feet or more. The real argument from the Monster cable guy was that all Monster cable HDMI cables were better then others because of the insulating they put inside. That being said when I bought mine at Walmart I just grabbed a $40 Phillips HDMI cables that was 6 foot,,I was in a hurry,it was pretty with gold ends and I bought it,,if there would have been one cheaper then great,if I was going 10,15 or 20 feet I would personally go Monster. Some say its digital signal so it either works or not,thats true but are you gonna get interferencein the signal because lack of shielding from a 99 cent cable?
I don't have any links or sources to back this up, but I'm like 99% sure that all HDMI cables are the exact same whether you spend $200 or $20.
I think that even if there is a technical difference in quality, it will not be one that is at all visible to the human eye.
As for the quality degrading over time, I doubt cheap (or any) HDMI's would degrade any faster than your TV, the system etc. (i.e. by the time it degrades you will be moving on to new equipment and everything anyway).
All of my tech friends get the $15 HDMI cables and say they are the same as the $100 ones - it is just a scan.
It's probably just like no name products such as mouth wash where the no name and Listerine versions are the exact same thing (literally coming out of the same factory) but the makers just know that some people are willing to spend more for a nicer package and to avoid the stigma of buying a cheaper product.
Anyone argues that the expensive ones arebetter send them to hdmi.org. It is kind of like someone saying the bible says something and you pulling the bible out of your pocket.... (just an analogy don't get upset anyone) Not like I did what Nick Saban justdid... or maybe :)
