i'm not too sure about an hdmi needing to be 6ft or more to be long lasting....i have had a 3 foot for about 2 years now and haven't had any problem with it.gordjt
6 Feet or LESS is what everyone is saying .. don't know if that is true, if it is, my 10 Feet cable will probably last for about few weeks then :(
I don't have any links or sources to back this up, but I'm like 99% sure that all HDMI cables are the exact same whether you spend $200 or $20.
I think that even if there is a technical difference in quality, it will not be one that is at all visible to the human eye.
As for the quality degrading over time, I doubt cheap (or any) HDMI's would degrade any faster than your TV, the system etc. (i.e. by the time it degrades you will be moving on to new equipment and everything anyway).
All of my tech friends get the $15 HDMI cables and say they are the same as the $100 ones - it is just a scan.
