ok im asking this cuz i have gotten a LG 26 inch LCD and i can only get 1080i at the max resolution (i have the option to go 1080p but the screen truns black and after 30secs nothing happends) so is it 1080p better than 1080i?? if yes for how much??

1. Yes it is alot better and it'll have the choice to change but it will not do anything because your TV does not Support it...

Your tv has to support 1080p. 1080p is the best picture quality u can get but u can only truly see the difference on screens 42inches and bigger.

Yes 1080p is superior to 1080i, but the difference between 1080i and 1080p on any TV less then probably 40" isn't noticeable. Here, read this article its a good read and it'll help you out. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6449_7-6810011-1.html?tag=feat.1

for a screen that size that's a good enough resolution. All your t.v. is doing if you set it to 1080i is downscaling it to 720p. just leave it at 720p. The difference is hardly noticeable even on some large t.v.s.
