I dont have a PSP (might pick one up someday)

Being able to play ps1 games should generate some more PSN sales. Especially once they get some of the better games on there.

update = crap.  custom wallpapers and in game xmb, including custom soundtracks, is what we need. what i really dont get is why the psp has had the wallpaper feature for years now, via update, but then sony didnt include it in the ps3 from the start. the xmb color changing by month and weather is nice, but i hated how its been pink for the past month, or grey and crap looking when the weather was gloomy outside, etc.bluem00se

ah, it took the PSP about a full year to get the wallpaper feature, it'll be there soon.

I'm holding off on buying two more SIXAXIS controllers until Christmas when hopefully they put rumble in them. I already have 2 for now.WARRZONE

i have def jam and all free demos and theres no vibration its stupid

The PS3 store will most likely be updated to allow downloading and playing on the PS3 TOMORROW (thursday).

As of today it will not work since the store downloads directly to the PSP.

For people who DO NOT KNOW. After the Agreement screen when you are about to install the upgrade. There will be a list of features included in the upgrade. If you can read then you will know.

you cant, the update states you can use rumble only for PS1 and PS2 games on your dualshock controller.  to do that, you got to buy the USB attachment for those controllers, I wont buy it cause Im gonna wait till E3 in july if they do come out with the "shockaxis" controller.

You guys are freaking hypocrits. Do you have any idea that the PS1 games are basically our Virtual Console as it is to Wii?? Why the hell are ppl so excited about Wii getting crap ass 8/16 bit games back, and when we can potentially get FF7 8 9, Chrono Cross, Xenogears and such back on our pS3 and ppl start saying it's useless. go over to the Wii board, VC is all they play..no games for Wii other than party games and mario/zelda right now. This is our 4000+ titles of back library man, treasure it! They stop selling alot of these games already, now jack up PS1 game production rate, and our "virtual console" is golden man, it will beat the crap out of xbox and wii's downloadable content in no time..of course we still have original titles like calling all cars coming in next week.

I am sorry i sound like a total fan boy on this reply, i am just angry ppl being double standard on Sony. Update is good no matter what it is, because updates fix things and add features. Which defines the value of the console..and we paid 600 for it, why would we not want them to keep improving it?? what u guys smoking 

oh and i forgot to mention, it's nice that ur save will work on both because u can play chrono cross on ur pS3 then bring it on a road trip with ur PSP and keep playing, after the trip, u come home, ucan load it on ur big screen again...how can u guys say its worhtless.

Ken, bro, chill man lol.. they dont' understand..its ok..yes update is good. This is actually a very significant upgrade IMO; this potentially boosted the PS3's online downloadable content by a few thousands because now developer will start to port games since now PSP and PS3 can both take advantage of it. It would be stupid that companies do not take advantage of porting a 10 yr old game even if it brings in 1-2 million of revenue..if they keep a steady stream of them coming, it could mean significant income for the company. Especially, since these are "old games", ppl will keep on dLing them regardless of how long the games been up for grab, because they are already old anyways.

NO im right with you. This is the update iv been waiting for. One of my main gripes with teh PS3 download a Ps1 game is that you could have only played it on your psp. Now that we can play it on our PS3 I think its freaking fantastic. Its time to do my happy dance*doing the happy dance*.  PS1 had some good RPG's and good fighters and now I can play them on a PS3 awsome. Plus if there were any PS1 games I missed now I can play them the way I want on a big tv insted of a small handheld.
