In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, there is a trophy that requires 20 demolish kills, this is VERY difficult. What is the best strategy to go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Like I tell all of my friends. Assault rifle of your choice, For spec 1 use the grenade vest, it will allow you to carry more grenades for your grenade launcher. For spec two use the explosive damage upgrade. Basically what you will want to do is play maps such as Nelson bay and white pass a lot. Sit in a corner and just shoot grenades out of your launcher at the walls. I found this to be A LOT easier than running up and C4'n all of the walls and hoping to kill someone, or using the Mortar strikes. You have an assault kit so just lay down an ammo box near your position.
Also, when playing Arica Harbor rush, attacking side, make sure to use the vehicle spec "optics" . Grab a tank and move up, but not a lot. Optics allows you to zoom in with the tank cannon, this is great because you can sit back and shoot alpha and not get destroyed. Just sit back and aim for the base alpha, if you are lucky you can knock down the building with some people in it. You can also do the same tactic for when you move up to the next base, but this time aim for bravo. This trophy just requires a lot of patience and luck. Don't get frustrated when you knock down a building and no one is in it. There will be plenty of other times. Good luck soldier!

Pick a shotgun, so that you Will able to use C4. And then use the explosive upgrade and the perk that makes you carry double the amount of C4. Now this tactic is best to use when you are the defender. You go in to a building and throw C4 all over it( only on the first floor). Then the attackers Will rush and hide in the building second floor, and then thats when you activate your C4. You don't even have to do anything just c4 everything.White pass on rush is easy as hell.

I did not tell you to C4 the buildings were the m-com station is at. C4 the nearby buildings you know your enemies are going to hide in. But if you want, you can C4 a m-com station building.. Lighting upyour ownbuilding like Christmas at the Griswolds with C4 usually doesn't work. It often kills the people inside the building BEFORE it collapses. If the building is hanging in there by a thread, most of the time people will either take 2 steps and jump out of the big gaping hole in the wall or someone will get the finishing touches while you reload. For these reasons, I suggest using C4 with this method:
Concept: The idea is you are setting a trap with the target as the bait and the unnessasary walls to contain them. Buildings have HP, so you don't need to turn every wall into dust. Blow the roof first, blow the bottom as they defuse, keep the mid so they can't escape. Sometimes you need to blow a mid portion as well to get the building to come down, but be sure to blow the portion FURTHEST from the target. You don't want to kill your enemies via C4 by accident. This tactic also works for snipers on the 2nd floor of a building too.
Application: It sounds complex, but its not.
Step 1. Clear the building.
Step 2. Set C4 in the roof and reload.
Step 3. Drop down, set the bomb.
Step 4. Drop down, detonate C4 (House now has one hell of a sunroof). Anyone who is looking in the direction of the building who saw the explosion, doesn't suspect another, and see's the house isn't being held up by wallpaper and happy thoughts. This makes things more inviting and your trap more believable.
Step 5. Set C4 on the bottom portion (should only need 4ish)
Step 6. Run out of the building. Wait for victims.
Step 7. Detonate a few seconds after they are in the building. Not immediatley or you will kill them. Not after they defuse or they will jump out.
Other things I have found out: Using an assault with 40mm is usually pretty bad. Not only does the house go down extreamly slowly, but you risk killing people inside as you fire and other people who see what you are doing usually join in and could take the last hit and all the credit...if you arn't killed by then.
Use recon instead. After you set your trap, you can toss your magic wuffle ball inside so you can tell where your enemies are at so you detonate at the right time. Not only is this more effective, but you arn't limited to using a shotgun to get up to the target.

Well, thanks guys, I will use bits and pieces of all of your advice. Here is my plan (in case you were wondering). I will playin White Pass on Rush anduse the assault kit with a shotgun and just refill my own ammo. If I get to a point where I am desperate for them, I will do a few team kills. But for my fellow soldiers' sake, I will try to avoid this. :)

Will definitely give this a try if I want the platinum.Yeah, because I often sit in a building as the walls are slowly being blasted out and sit inside as it collapses around me....without being killed first by snipers looking through the huge gaping hole or the explosions going off next to me. This tactic will devistate the hordes of people who stay afk inside the objective building. /sarcasimYou all can say what you want, the tactic works. I simply think your method has a tremendous amount of luck involved but I guess if you are really lucky, it shouldn't be a problem. If anything we can agree on, its that there is more than one way to get your demolition kills, and that those who demolish their own buildings are scum.
Since some people might get the dirty idea to blow up their own mcom's to hopfully capture some unlucky people inside, I figure I'd throw this method in for cheap plays who can still be cheap, but without ruining the game for everyone else.
1. Get a full team going.
2. Invite a friend when your side is full and their side isn't.
3. Now your friend is on the other side.
4. Go to your PSN and start a text chatroom. Invite your traitor.
5. Text him what building he should be in, out of the way. Blow it up. Have traitor run inside.
6. Enjoy cheezy trophy you didn't earn like the rest of us while morally justifying your method by not ruining the game for everyone else.
*Note* This works much better in conquest or in rush after the first mcom station goes down. Have your traitor be defending while you attack. This will make it easier for him to come to you instead of visa versa.
P.S. Don't forget to shower to help scrub off the shame.

Actually it does work. I do this all the time right at the start of the match. I run into the first base on the right in Nelson Bay, plant C4 inside on the 1st story, set the MCOM alarm, and then hide in the attick. I can even watch for guys running up the stars. I usually give them a few seconds to get o the 2nd level then blow the C4. Usually it's good for 2 or 3 destruction 2.0 kills when I'm able to do it. This method also works on the last base on White Pass. Some matches the bases are defended well and having time to plant C4 is impossible, but every few matches I find I'm able to run right up with practically nobody noticing me and take the time to plant C4 on each wall. At this point since I no longer need destruction 2.0 I usually plant C4 directly on that MCOM and wait for enemies to come up stairs (scores more points to damage the MCOM), but it's the same idea if you are able to run right up inside the base you can plant the C4 and set off the alarm for your "trap".
Once the match starts and the building has holes in it then its best to use rocket launcher or mortar strikes. I actually got destruction 2.0 by playing nelson bay over and over again and literally just spammig mortar strikes on those 2 sets of bases (3 of the 4 are destructible). It only took me a couple days of "trying" to get the trophy, if I had used the C4 method it probably would have been even faster.
The way i did it was get in a tank in a SDM, and blast out a good few of the walls on buildings around the map that i knew people mostly hide in. Then whenever i saw someone hope inside one of the almost destroyed buildings, i would finish it off with my 40mm Grenade Launcher, thus getting a kill toward the trophy. Sometimes i would get 3-4 in house which really helped, and i got the trophy in under a week. Also i found Arica Harbor to be the best map for me.
