2009 Predictions

What games will be good? What games do you think will be disappointing? Any surprisingly good games that are not getting much attention? Possible game of the year nominees.......

blow bioshock 2 out of the water? gah for the first time i am SICK of the level of hype for killzone 2. Gah sound like idiots saying this about a game that isn't even out and is just an FPS. it will be fun (buying it first day) but to say it will be better than an FPS that actually tries to innovate somewhat with a story and such T.TCosmoKing7717

I think that Uncharted 2, Resident Evil 5 and Killzone 2 are going to earn something close to GOTY.
I'm just excited for Prototype and Ratchet & Clank.

Street Figher IV and Tekken 6 will be solid fighters as they make their transition to next gen consoles, but nothing out of the box.

Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2, and God of War 3 could potentially end as bitter dissappointments, especially KZ 2. I mean, the first game wasn't GOTY material after all that hype.

Mafia 2 and Godfather II will be mediocore games at best. Also I just can't see Batman being that great of a game due to the history of flopped suphero video games.

Bioshock 2 and Uncharted 2 are going to do very well to build off the success from the their respective original titles.

You can bet your ass that all of the mentioned games are going to sell well though

Dissapointing game of 2009 - Killzone 2, the insanely high hype will kill it among the gamers and it will be hated/loved by so many people, IMO the game will be OK.

Surprisingly good game - Little King Story, the game seems really fun, and people wont notice, only few wii a gamers.

GOTY so far - RE5, i hate to admit it, but the game looks fine.

GOTY for sure - StarCraft II, what can i say, is Starcraft, is easiest that Obama quit the job than Blizzard screw the game.

If Starcraft 2 drops this year, it has GotY on lockdown. Nothing will beat that game. If it doesn't, I don't see any console games that can beat DoW2 or Empire: Total War.pyromaniac223

I have looked into my crystal ball (which looks strikingly similar to a PS9!) and have come up with the following predictions:

- Killzone 2 will be a good game, but will be forgotten by the time GOTY voting comes around.

- MLB 09: The Show will win Sports GOTY... but its "custom walk up music" feature will be responsible for way too many bad pop-trash songs littering people's PS3 hard drives as they attempt to hilariously humiliate their opponents.

- Another year, another 12 months of broken dreams concerning the "someday" release of StarCraft 2.

- Either God of War 3 or Uncharted 2 will miss a 2009 release date, while the other battles for GOTY honors.

- Home will still suck... but Sony will promise "it'll finally be great in 2010!" Or 2011. Or whatever.

- This will be the year that Microsoft finally corrects every last "red ring of death" issue. Really. Honest. :P
