I'm going to stick with my PSP 2000 model. If I'm going to spend $250 on a system, I'd throw in the extra $50 for a PS3. I think that Sony should rethink the price. They did the smart thing with the PS3 price cut/Slim, and the GO's price is just too much. I say $200 is a good price for the system.
Please don't buy this sony obviously hasn't learned from the mistakes made with the ps3... they need to be burned again.
I really don't know what they were thinking... maybe the whole thing wasn't planned to sell well but instead just bring tons of attention back to sony for having something new. Maybe they weren't even planning on manufactering or shipping many to the U.S. anyway.

Isn't that what the PS3 Slim is for?
I plan on buying the 3000 this Christmas holiday season when it's on sale (at least on Amazon... I remember it being $30-40 cheaper on that site around Christmas last year). Still got a ton of essential DS games to get first.
Speaking of which, I can understand not liking the UMD because of loading times and the disc whirling sound, but why not just use memcards like the DS cartridge? I think that would be a better option than forcing download-only on you. Compact doesn't have to mean download-only. Why not use cartridges?
Oh well, maybe the PSP2 will use cartridges instead.

I think Sony did the right thing with the discs, but I think they should get rid of the UMD casing and just use discs.
The PSP Go will get a price drop before it's a year old. Sony is hurting right now and they know that lots of people will buy it when it first comes out no matter what the price is. Kind of like with the PS3.

Interesting. Sources? Because SONY isn't hurting in the least the last time I checked, and that wasn't but less than a month ago. SONY does more than produce consoles FYI.
Moving on.
The PSP GO is going for $250? That's insane, and no I'm not going to spend that kind of money on a handheld. I'll just wait for a price cut on a 3000 model and then consider purchasing one.

And Sony will get even more income with the PS3 price cut and PS3 Slim. Sony is anything but hurting. And $250 probably won't last long. It won't sell well.
I've got the 2000 and it's nice and all but c'mon, that PSPgo! is like watching the girls of Baywatch jog out of the water in slow motion - it gives me action in the pants. Now as long as Sony wasn't bee essing aboot the whole "transfer your UMD's & DL them" I buying it minute one GTPSP looks so freaking good.

There are so many things wrong with that sentence.

Becasue cartridges suck, really bad, not only that, there expensive.
it would take 4 or 4 cartridges to take a psp game, it works for the ds becasue ds games are only generally around 125 megs, psp games can be 5 times that.
and no ones "forcing" download only on you, no ones forcing you to buy a go.
I pre-ordered my PSP Go today from Gamestop. I reserved the white one. I think it is going to be awesome and I can't wait to get it.
Just dont. I see it as a waste. Just get a regular PSP and get a good memory card.mightychir
That.
I hope Sony doesn't get burned again for having such a high price point. I'll keep my 3000 and 8GB mem. card instead.
