Welll, what games are you waiting for and or you like now for each system? Once you figure that out, which list has more that pleases you? Are you going online? Are you willing to pay fifty dollars a yearfor a great online service with 360, which you also have to pay for the content online (Themes, Gamerpictures, Games, etc.) Or would you rather your gaming experience online with PSNbe free with most of it's content free besides some special add-ons and games? Both communities are great in my opinion, as I play frequently on both. Though, if you are familar with 360's community, you must know that Playstation will be getting Playstation Home, a live interactive arena so gamers can communicate with one another in a simulated world. 360's community and the interaction between online and player is fantastic but it really comes down to what costs you'd make for it and whether or not you believe it's hugely different from PSN. Apart from some nice features, I care little in the difference.
The Playstation 3 also has a Blu-ray player in it, if that interests you at all. Which may be good for you and your family later on. Although, you can buy an HD-DVD add on for 360 for seventy to a hundred dollars. Playstation 3 has built-in WiFi unit so you wouldn't need an ethernet chord, just a router so you can connect. This can be done with 360 as well, yet once again, you have to purchase the adapter for around the same amount as the HD-DVD add on, last time I checked.
Reliability also comes into play. Playstation 3 has really good reliability, hardly a problem besides a few cases where the Blu-ray drive has failed. I believe the failure rate for Playstation 3 is about 1%, yet I'd imagine it's real failure rate to be around 5% to 6%. Xbox 360 is known to have a general hardware failure with an attached failure rate of 30-32%, from major retailers and press from the gaming community. Though a three year warranty is active for all 360s, so if you don't mind waiting, by all means it shouldn't be an issue I suppose.
its hard to pick which one is the best.....do some research....find ur favorite exclusives....pick the system
good luck
If you can afford it both. Both systems bring something to the table that is worth owning. I just recently added a PS3 to my entertainment and its great, but really no better or worse than the 360 so far. PS3 does seem to be more reliable, but I have had 2 360's Premium at launch, traded it in for Elite when it launched and had no problems. Remember the noisest wheel is the loudest. I know the 360's are having hardware issues, but its still a small percentage of the overall numbers.
PSN is great, it feels a little clunky but gets the job done. I personally dont like the sixaxis controller, its too small and light for my hands, but I am sure there a ton of people that dont like the 360 controller, so its a preference thing I have no doubt.
I like both systems for different reasons, think they are both worth purchase if you have the disposable income, if you dont pick one and have fun, life is too short to wonder "if".
I am pretty sure this should be in system wars...
