even if it is true i don't think we will hear about it untill they seel out of the 60 gig versions. i don't think they would try to unload all their back inventory at a 100$ discount if they were gonna offer an even cheaper version.
i really hope it is true though. i wont be buying one until i can get a brand new one for under 450$.

tru dat. sony won't say a word about this until after the 60gb's sells out; i expect that to happen end of august, begin of sept. i expect an announcement about the 40gb $399 ps3 around the beginning of October. those are my guesses anyways.
