Gamestop, EB or whatever the HECK YOU WANT TO CALL THEM HAVE LOST THEIR FREAKIN MINDS!!! Am I missing something here...didn't RE5 sell well enough to have higher trade in value then that??? I'd rather throw it out the widow before giving Gamestop the satisfaction of PIMPING another gamer!!! That's my rant(I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ):P...NOW, I'm not talking about the employees in general, just the trade in policy. What are your thought's??

LOL that is gamestop for you. I remember when I tried to trade in GTA4 6 months after release and they only wanted to give me 14 bucks for it, yet they were selling it for 40.

You could sell it to me! I had to get rid of it when I traded my XBOX, I still have the CE strategy guide and been wanting to pick it up on PS3....but I didn't want to pay $40.00 for a game I already beat like 6 times. I just love the game tho...

They have too many copies in stock I guess. Trade value drops. Least I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Hey TC, you could try Best Buy. They have a trade in program that's available on their website. They'll even send you the envelope to ship the game in. Of course, you get a gift card... but if you shop there anyway...

I'm just gonna keep it, it's not like I hated it( didn't love it either)it's just that I wasn't playing it like I used to. It was really going toward my purchase of MW2.:)

Most of these have to do with how many people have traded it in already. If it is a large amount then you get less.

lmao, that's why I keep all my games whether I like them or not... last gen I ended up trading a lot of games and ended up at a major loss If you have to trade in stuff, try block buster or selling them on ebay....they're not that much better off but its better than what gamestop will do for you.

lol It's all supply and demand. I traded in my copy of RE5 about a month or so ago and got like 40 bucks for it. I've found it depends on how many used copies they already have. I've even seen one EB offer me more money for one game than another EB at a different location and I could clearly see it was because one place had a bunch more used copies already.

Same, and I was sadly disappointed. This is a prime example of why you dont trade in games. If you are going to buy a game:

1. Make sure you like the genre.

2. Do a little homework; read reviews , etc.

3. If there is potential you may not enjoy, try renting or borrowing if possible.

But for the love of god do not spend $60-70 on a game, only to return it to ebgames or gamestop for pennies on the dollar. Such a waste..

Gamestop is a bunch of con artists. They'll chew you up and spit you out. Just the other day I went to trade in a Nintendo DS. They gave me a measly $30 for it. And to make matters worse they deducted $10 because I didn't have the charger. So i walked away with a whopping $20. But you know what I showed those bastards......revenge is sooooo soooo sweet. The DS never worked properly anyway. For some reason it turns on only when it feels like it and when it did the touch screen would not respond. The idiot at the register who took the DS turned it on to check see if it works. Well the DS decided to turn on that time and they acceptted it. Muahahhaha Muahahah. Ohh revenge is sweet!

In the end i was able to get Valkryia Chronicles with their measly $20. :)

Understandable, im tired of lots of games in my collection. But I will not take 60 dollars and flush it down the toilet, just to save a couple bucks on my next game. Trade-ins = ripoffs period.

every smart company tries to maximize their profit it's not like they force you to sell it to them , im sure you can rather trade it with someone for a equally good game you not have better then giving it away for almost nothing

Give it some time. The price will eventually drop to like $20 on amazon. Good ole amazon.

How much are they reselling it for? I think I see RE5 for around $40 or $50. Killzone 2 is a laugh, new its $69 but used its a measly $64! Wow! can save a whole five dollars buying a second hand Killzone 2!

I just sold my copy of Batman:AA on craigs list for $40 to put towards MW2, because I knew I wouldn't get that much from gamestop. I learned my lesson when I paid $20 for Bioshock used when I could get it online for the same price new and no tax with free shipping. FRAK GAMESTOP!!!!!

This is the reason why I don't trade in many games... I'll leave RE5 in my collection even though I got the platinum trophy and I'll probably never play it again.

Gamestop is only worth trading into during promotions. It takes quite a bitof work to make some profit off of them butit can be done. Toys R Us would give you 15 for RE5

Only good Gamestop is for buying used games. I bought several used games and not a scratch on them. I will never trade my games because they will rip you off. You'd have a better chance selling it at a Swap Meet than Gamestop.

I traded in DMC4, Battlefield BC, Prince of Persia, Warhawk, & Mirror's Edge with 35% extra trade in value and got $29. That's pathetic. They rip you off but they are the easiest way to get rid of old games.

Gamestop looks at sales of the game and popularity. When the game sells well new the market is flooded with copys. trade in value will stay at about 30 bucks for maybe 3 months. then they get alot of copys traded in and they have an over stock along with the fact that the game is selling poor brand new since its been on the market 6 months or more the trade in value drops fast.. Also if they sell the game for 40 bucks of course the trade is gonna be garbage. I know most of gamestops polices since my wife works at one. They probly have 30 copys of RE5 laying around used as i type this. and i live in a town of 30,000 people

Dammit... I thought you meant they were selling it for 5 bucks. Lol. That's one of the reasons why I don't sell any of my games anymore. All my games have too much sentimental value to me to be worth selling at all.

i bought a 10$ game from there and i tried to trade it in while it was still at 10$ and they offered me 84 cents
