Jay would want you to get the 60GB and Warhawk.
why does the tc say 60- or 40 gig ps3? the 80 gig is the same price as the 60 gig. they are both 499. but u get extra 20 gigs plus a game.Long live your money, sepdn it on a 60gb ps3! LONG LIVE PS3!
Ohri
the real question is why in the world would he trade a 360 elite for 300 bucks cash. when the main reason he wants it is for mgs4?
so no matter which one he picks he is lossing 201 bucks. but hey its his money not mine
Damn, purchasing a 40gb with Heavenly Sword and War Hawk does sound convincing.HoVDaHuSTLa1
YA this would actually prolly be your best bet here! If you don't care about PS2 much then go with the 40GB and get those amazing games (yes they are amazing I own both) and you'll also get Spiderman3 and the 5 Blu-Ray movies for about $500 thats a sweet ass deal!

ugh, Creepy how you know that I'm a MGS fan, but I never see my invesments as a loss, I just enjoy good gaming, and at the moment Halo3 isn't cutting it for me neither is the 360 with its freezing periodically problem, Money isn't an issue, I care more about a good gaming experience, with that said, I'd rather have a PS3. and 201 is my area code lol ;)
Not really that I have heard from. If you are using a headset I guess. not a big deal at allmemberz
Yeh, I figured that.
If it's true you really have no intention of playing your PS2 games anymore than go with with 40 GB. Supposedly the motherboard is a little more advanced, and uses lesseletricity. I bought the 60 GB recently from Best Buy and got a free copy of Heavenly Sword, because I was going to buy that game anyway. In the end the 2 extra USB slots, built-in card readers, and BC were worth an extra 50$ for me. I still love my PS2 library and if my PS2 system ever died on me I still have the 60 GB version as a backup.Feralwolv
Wait, the 40gb does not have the built in card readers??? If it doesn't I'm getting a 60gb with HS.

Ya the 60GB has the card-readers, 2 USB slots and backwards compatability. It really is the best one of all the PS3s and you'll be able to do what you want in the future (buy really cheap yet still awesome PS2 games), swap songs real quick with the memory stick or SD card, charge something with USB, etc. Truthfully I really only use two USB ports with my 60GB but that's PS3 peripherals only, nothing extra.
Ok so stop thinking about it and get 60GB with HS, you'll love it dude.
[QUOTE="HoVDaHuSTLa1"]Keep in mind that I will be getting COD4 and AC on day one. So that plays in my decision as well.Yng-ePIc
If your getting those on day one you should be good with the 60 gig and Heavenly Sword. You'll have COD4 next week and AC a little over a week after.
Very tru, although I might not use the card readers, I definately feel they are a must, always good to have em' there for a rainy day. Besides in my local walmart and gamestop they have 10plus 60gb available, I should take advantage of it.
Are 4 usb ports really that necessary?HoVDaHuSTLa1
No, not really. You can always spend around $20 or so for a USB hub to get more ports. That's what you do on computers if you need more. I have a 60GB PS3 and I only use two USB ports. One I could get rid of if I buy a charger for my controller. The other is for a keyboard but you could also get a Bluetooth keyboard if you want.

I used the card readers a couple times when my folks came through and wanted to see a couple pics I had on my digital camera. Popped the SD Memory Card in and the pics came up on the T.V., everybody (well the old folks :D) were amazed.

I wouldn't worry about having built-in memory card slots. You can buy an inexpensive card reader and plug it into a USB slot. Do you already have one for your computer? If you do it should work fine. The built-in slot is nice to have but not really that important.
Well card readers aren't that much of an importance, but is definatetly a good add on. Like someone else stated before, I would like to see my pics on my HDTV. HoVDaHuSTLa1
You can still do that. Like I said earlier, just get a card reader and hook it up through a USB port. Copy the photos to the hard drive. that's it. The 40GB model is missing some features but like Sony said it's nothing that can't be added if you want.
I think a lot of people don't get the whole value thing though. You can add the missing features but if you add the coast of doing it you probably spent the same anyway. Too bad most Americans are too cheap, I mean frugal. They only look at the cost of the console. Not the whole cost. I don't look at things that way so I can see how the older models are better. But the media keeps attacking Sony over their high price so at least they're doing this. Take away features to drop the price.
Well, at least you have decided that the bettersystem in the long runwould be the Playstation 3. So, now you have to buy one. Personally, I will be purchasing the 80GB model for $499 and buying one game for the time being. The guy that said to wait for Resistance to come out on Greatest Hits is right. That game is great, but since it is now a year old they should be discounting it any time soon. $525 is a lot of money to be holding on to and I am sure it's starting to "burn a hole in your pocket"so whatever you do, research the various systems and games and make the right choice the first time. Gamespot has some great reviews of the games and there is a PSM Holiday Buyers guide out on the stands right now that you should pick up to give you some more information, it is actually pretty good.

I'm more about the gaming experience. I'm one of those guys that likes to have everything put out in one structure without having to go out and finding the rest, know what i mean. I'd rather have all the features on day 1 rather than getting each feature piece by piece. $500 is not a lot for what is being offered, but I do understand you comment on cheap Americans. The way I see it is, YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON LOVE, AND I LOVE PS3! lol a bit **** but what can I say.
