Not bad at all, actually. I would suggest checking it out while running just to doublecheck nothing is happening with it.

Well let's make an educated decision together. it's 10 dollars less than the price drop of the fats and th slim. You are getting an extra controller plus what comes in the box already. You are getting 95% backwards compatability. They don't make the system with BC anymore. I mean really the answer to the question is simple. People payed double the cost for what your paying. Not to be insulting but what is it holding people back from buying the system now that the price is 300 dollars. That is a kick a** deal even without BC. I don't see what the hold up is.

If sales don't spike a huge amount after this then I officially declare the gaming population stupid and completely dumb for not jumping on this.

no hold up at all, i just spoke to the guy yesterday, so this is very recent. and i will likely go to his house today to test it out and possibly purchase it (he has it all hooked up to an hdtv and is perfectly fine with him making sure its all good).

That's a real bargin in my opinion. I payed the full $600.00 for my 60 gig system and I wouldn't sell it for double that money because of what it has to offer.

yea i thought as much, granted its only slightly less then a new machine, but considering the model and extra controller, it def. seems like a bargain, im going to try and drop by this guys place later today and give it a spin and see if i want to pick it up.

Seems like a steal. I'd test it out for more then just a few minutes, personally, just to make sure it isn't having overheating issues or anything that would be an indicator of a possible YLOD, but it certainly seems like a great buy.

For that price even if it did have a problem paying to have it fixed would still be a bargin compared to what they sell for used/refurbished in stores.

Maybe for some. I would just as soon get a slim PS3 and a brand new PS2 though, rather then mess with costly repairs.

I have 2 60 gig PS3's in perfect condition. I have never used the BC option, so it seems like such a waste. I would love to sell mine for that kind of money just so i could swap out for two slims. Are 60 gigs really a hot commodity? Maybe i should try craigslist or something.

i did, it took a bit of set up to get things goin, but its running great, its very slick, it feels alot more high end then the other two. im a tech junky so i love having so many options, very cool.

the only thing im worried about is all the stuff ive read about older ps3's overheating,i hope i dont have that issue

dang I would be so freaking scared if I ever purchased a used console from anyone. I buy all my products brand new no matter where I get it just to be completely safe. There are just so many issues that could pop up with in the next few days or even weeks..

I'll just give you one example and hope to god it doesn't happen to you, but when a PS3 console turns off by it self, it's usually the cause of over heating; which the 60GB models are notorious for. It will work fine for awhile, but continuously turn off after a certain amount of time until one day it stops for good...

Like I said, I hope to G-man that nothing happens and you will forever be in happiness with your PS3. Congrats btw and have fun buddy; o yeah Welcome to the darkSide.

considering the old 60gig has more ports, plays ps2 games and other good stuff.... if the guy wants to play ps2 games then he made the right decision. Now if you have absolutely no interest in ps2 games I may question the 60gb decision but either way it is still the most complete of all the systems.

I would be wary....i'd buy a new, clean ps3 from the nice people from gamestop or your local game retailer and electronics store =]

if you don't have a ps2...get a ps2! Who cares about BC!.....I do :( but idc i have a ps2.

ok alot of people said that this a great deal, let me show u my point of view ,u will buy this 60gb from ur friend which is cost 290$ but remember that there is no warranty which mean if this ps3 break up in the 1st day, then u will have to pay more money for it,only one postive thing is the ps2 games ,I dont see this as a very big deal ,maybe u will play ps2 games when u get it but then u will stop playing them and u will turn for the ps3 games.

I think a new ps3 is better bec of the warranty ,no one touch it before u so u know the condition of it ,plus not a very big difference in the playstion prices, only 10$ ,come on man think about it well and good luck :).
