80 Gigs PS3 Confirmed!!!

How is it a rip off? What the hells the rip off here?  I cant believe everyones complaining about something so small and stupid.  Korea got an 80 gig. WOW big freakin deal.  So i have the ee engine and they have emulation.  WOW big freaking deal.

I keep seeing this comment here and in system wars.  Sony already cleared the 80GB model with the FCC in the U.S.  It is most likely coming here.  It makes it easier for them to drop the price of the box and they recognize the need for that. 

Once again this is as ridiculous and pointless as the 360 Elite.chaos-SD

Whats the point? From the spec sheet, all that is different (between the 60GB and the 80GB) is the HDD size. Why bother when you can just change the HDD anyway with a HDD of your own choosing (so long as it is 2.5" SATA).

If they stick to that conversion rate, it looks like there might be a price drop. But seeing as how the price for a 60GB varies worldwide, I'm not sure there will be a price drop when this new SKU retails (if it does infact come to retail).

whats the point of buying the new 80gig if they take out the emotion engine and with the difference of only 20gigs? I'm happy I bought mine 2days ago...............LOL

It is cause they didnt take out the good games yet....yet but when they do you'll be happy you bought the PS3 but your also right that your having more fun on your PS2 it's cause PS3 doesnt have good games out yet but still it wasnt a rip off buying it early cause I download demos and entertain myself with those demos at the Playstation Store.

Not really because it's only going to be about $27 dollars cheaper,that's not that much.

its said with tax, and doesn't korea have like a 12% tax or something really high like that. The price would be less than $550 USD even with the 6% I have here where I live

Still it wouldn't be a huge price difference.I would like to see a $100 dollar difference,that would be nice.

I would disagree that early adopters got cheated. We're talking 20 gigs.

Now for a certain other system that received a much larger increase in HDD size as well as the inclusion of an HDMI port, then yes, those people got cheated. 

im still happy i got my 60gb when it first came out i can play my ps2 and ps1 game flawlessly and i can all ways swap out my hardrive there taking the emotion engine out of thatCrazy87

No they still can. They'll just use software emulation instead of the EE chip to run them. Same difference.

Well Ms cousld have given you HDMI from the begining,but they didnt,and all they gave you was a 20gig hdd.Or in the core's case no hdd. People who wanted HDMI but bought a normal XBOX360 they're screwed,they have to buy a whole new system to get HDMI or to get a decent size hdd they will have to pay 179.99 dollars. so what they gave you a cable to play in Hd, sony did'nt, a HDMI cable to play in HD can be bought for $5 on the internet so its no big deal.

Once again, this practically costed Sony nothing to upgrade it, they were prolly outa 60gb drives. Don't consider it a PS3 elite but a 60gb PS3 replacement, which is what it is.
