I'm thinking of selling my 360 for a PS3 (not sure yet, advice would be helpful), I was just wondering though, is it worth waiting for the 160gb one? How much more expensive will it be than the 80 gb one?

Thanks.

im not sure of all the features the 160gig will have yet, but i know the price is suposed to be around $650 US. it might be worth waitin for since ieve heard the new 80 gigs cant use backwards compatability and stuff like that. but again, im not sure about the 160gig yet, so i cant give ya much advice on that one

You mean backwards compatibility with PS1 or PS2 Games??? I had always heard that PS2 games didn't work anyway, so I've never really bothered with it. Otherwise I'd be collecting my FF Games LOL

If you aren't in a hurry, then wait. Even if you end up getting the 80 GB, when the 160 GB comes out, they might lower the price of the 80 GB to remove old stock. Even if they didn't, you certainly won't pay more than the current price... So, wait until you "can't wait" anymore...i.e., when that game you're dying to have finally comes out; whatever that game may be... :)

Well, the games I really want are The Force Unleashed and MSG4. I heard the release date for the 160gb is October 31st, and I'm going to have trouble waiting that long, lol. 80 gb core doesnt really have much, its just a bottom of the line PS3. Only 2 usb (instead of 4) no BC, or media slots

160 gb is like the old 80gb, just without BC

So I can't play PS2 Games on my new 80gb PS3?

If so, that scraps the idea of getting FFX and FFX-2 :(

Was it $400 and did not come with MGS4?

Then i wouldn't get FFX or FFX-2, unless you have a PS2

The dates I'm also seeing simply say "by November". I think Sony's aim is to get it out by Christmas, so I wouldn't worry about it being too much later than that (i.e., 2009). It could be Hallowe'en, or maybe a bit after.

I don't think the 160 GB will have a lot of *new* features...I read somewhere that the difference was just the HDD size and maybe a Dualshock controller. I'm sure we will get information about the 160 GB long before October 31st (say, in a couple of weeks)...perhaps wait until we get more info?

Not trying to be a fanboy comment...but you might have a harder problem selling the XBox 360 if the money from the sale is used to buy the PS3... :)

If it's that long, I might as well just go ahead and buy the 80gb. My cousins have a 60gb and they have LOADS of music, videos and demos and they are not having any trouble with storage. The only thing that would cause me to wait is if the 160gb has some major feature that the 80gb doesn't have.

Question though, how come some people say they have a 300gb PS3 or something? Can you buy custom Hard Drives?

As for the 360, there are FAULTY 360's going for £50 on eBay. Mine is in perfect condition, and I have a wireless adapter and two controllers to sell with it. Plus, I'll sell all my games (some good exclusives in there, Forza, Mass Effect, Halo 3). I'll never get the same amount of money needed to buy the PS3, but I've got abit of extra money.

You can upgrade any ps3 with any 2.5'' sata hard drive of any size. It is very easy and on any official PlayStation website there is a manual how to do this.

The good thing is you will NOT lose your warranty

So buy cheapest ps3 and just upgrade the hard drive.
