Does anyone here just own a ps3 for gaming and nothing else?

PS3 FTW! :P

I only play PS3 for games, and to talk to friends, and sorry, not sure about the question about warranty :)

Hmm. If your Playstation 3 isn't modded, you would probably save more money not buying a new PS3. Only because you can still get system repairs outside of warranty if you ask. I think going out and paying 299$+ for a new Playstation 3 to get the repair fee waived as opposed to paying the repair fee of 139 - 150$ would be a bit of a waste. Unless you have other underlying circumstances I have not been made aware of.

I use my Playstation 3 to store music, videos, television shows, and watch some blu-ray movies. I also run Life With Playstation from time to time and visit Playstation Home. Which all around means no, I don't use the PS3 for just gaming.

My PS3 is out of warranty, too... but why would you spend 300 € for no reason. I would buy a new PS3 only when my current one breaks. Save your money for good games, like: GOW3, MGS4 etc...

Save it for great upcoming games, and get Bluray's, they are truly stunning in High Definition.

I have a older model but it's hardly been used and it's back wards compatible. I don't think it's going to break on me any time soon. I still have old Atari's 2600s , Nintendos, and for a close example old computers, around that work well enough for me to have no real doubts. Ah, paranoia sets in for me now, just try to enjoy your system...like I used to be...
