1. The PS3 has an internal memory system, correct. And If so, does the amount ofgigabytes determine the amount of space?

2. Can you save PS2 games to it?

3. Do PS2 games differ in appearance whne being played on a PS3, rather than a PS2?

1. yes. the harddrive is to the ps3 that memory cards were to the ps2/1
2. you can have ps2 game saves on it, not entire games, no
3. you can upscale ps2/1 games on the ps3 to hd resolution.

1. The Hardrive is like a big memory card. So yes you have Gigabytes of space
2. You can create an "internal memory card" for ps2 and ps1 games. So you can save the games to those memory cards.
3. The games can be upscaled to be played in hd but honestly i don't see much difference but that might be cuz my tv is too big for those games
