[QUOTE="-Makaveli-"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"] alright, lets me just say how psn works "in cap locks to get everyone attention" THINGS YOU CAN KEEP : THE FREE AVATARS, FREE WALLPAPERS, FREE MAPS, ANYTHING YOU BUY AT DISCOUNT PRICE THINGS YOU CAN'T KEEP : FREE GAMES i don't understand why people are complaining about this, yeah this is a way for sony to give people a taste of psn plus to see if they like it, so what? you know how much money their losing because of all this, their a company at the end of the day. Just take it or don't take it, they didn't have to give us anything, all they had to do was put up psn online and thats it. but they offered you to get into plus for free. so don't complaining, if you don't like it then to badChris_Williams
To be fair, avatars and wallpapers cost almost nothing to produce and are practically pure profit for Sony, and the maps and discounted games are discretionary (so I will be curious as to which games they allow everyone to recieve discounts on).
Also, Sony kind of does need to offer online service. It was everyone's understanding when they purchased the PS3 that they were paying for an online console. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if after selling an optimum number of PS3's, Sony just pulled the plug on PSN and said "gotcha."
this isn't the same thing as sony just taking psn away, psn was breached so to protect their consumers and themselves they took it down, don't try to spin it into something its not. Also free is free, i don't care if it costs them nothing to make avatars and wallpapers. Also psn if a FREE online service, its down but guess what i'm not losing any money off this and am going to wait for it to be brought up.No, it's not the same. My point is you are trying to spin online as some gift passed down to us by Sony. It isn't and it was stipulated when you purchased your console that it was online so you can think of your payment for online as contained within that initial investment. Therefore PSN being down does represent loss on the part of its users.
EDIT: Also, it was brought down to protect their customers because they failed to protect their customers otherwise.
