Not sure why you loved the first Uncharted but hated the third one but I would give Uncharted 2 to a shot because it is one of the best games on the ps3 imo. And some other games that I couldn't stop playing are: Skyrim, portal 2, Gow games, MGS4, and RE4. The only problem with portal 2 is that it is short but it still has a really good sp.
Red Dead Redemption, GOTY Edition
Bioshock+Bioshock 2
I'm planning to buy those two today. Open-world sandbox game that isn't GTA4, and a survival horror. I thought it the time was nigh for Bioshock, since I've never played the series and with Bioshock Infinite around the corner.

That is my most disappointing game this gen Thats almost as ridiculous as your mod campaign thats not trying to be a mod campaign. The later was just me having some fun on this site...I tend to just mess around for fun on OT. But, on the other hand, I try to give legit answers on the game forums as it may affect people's buying decisions and time investments (would appreciate similar honesty from others, so that is what I try and give). People seem to confuse 'most disappointing' with 'worst' or 'bad'...they are not at all the same though. GOW3 is not even close the worst game I have played this gen. It is a 'fine' game. But that does not change the fact that it is basically 'same song, 3rd verse' and was terribly disappointing. Here is why it is IMO:
1. story is the exact same -someone betrays Kratos right as he is about to 'win' at the beginning, gets sent to hell (sans powers), work the entire game to get back powers and back where you were -looking for pandora's box...again -get 'new' blades...again 2. Action is the exact same -same exact way of fighting same old enemies (skeletons, cyclops, harpies, minotaurs, etc)...nothing new ...but it is FAR easier, especially the 'challenges' 3. Items are mostly the same -same weapons (bow and arrow, blades, wings, golden fleece, helios' head replaces the Medusa one, only hermes sandals are new) -magic is scaled down though. one spell per weapon 4. story starts good and trails off -Kratos gets all emotional towards the end -...blah, blah, blah, "hope this, hope that"...is not Kratos (I am exaggerating here. not THAT bad I guess) 5. Short Game 6. Puzzles are the same -move cranks here, slide blocks there, use wings to glide w/ steam TBH, GoW II should have been about 5 hours longer and included this...Part 3 is really a drawn out expansion pack of part II (but way better looking)
God of War 3. from begining to end a spectacle to behold.

In the interest of avoiding thread derailment. Failed. Re: GoW3 - dont fix what aint broke, dont change what is enjoyed. It was expanded enough to be new without going astray. Top 3 best looking game on a console, ever. Another great chapter in one of the best stories ever told in a video game.--Rob--1. i saw almost no expansion in gameplay...everything was the same aside from the dash 2. I don't really care about looks/graphics personally (old school games on my PSP get the most play from me BY FAR if that gives you any indication)...so that did not factor into my analysis 3. You honestly thought part 3 was a good story :? -most of the story was a repeat until it went off the rails It would have been a good 5 hour expansion pack for GOW2 IMO (it had lots of filler that could have been cut) Side note: If this were my thread, I would not see it as derailment. I would want opposing views listed in order to better make my own purchasing decision...but maybe that is just me
I would say go with the darkness .it is an awesome gamealthough old . i really loved the story and gameplay is really fun especially with the darkness, gunplay is ok i guess
other games i suggest
Batman : Arkhum Asylum and Arkhum City
L.A Noire ( i really recommend this )
Mafia II
Heavy Rain

live-a-live
I'd avoid Bioshock 2
Since you played Kane and Lynch 1 you might want to play the second game. But fora storyline that you can really get into that is subjective. So I would recommend renting a few games you haven't played from gamefly and see which game you really like.
That is my best suggestion, Gamefly about 5-8 games you haven't played and maybe you will find a Gem! (or not)
Story-driven games I loved:
Mafia II
Enslaved
Lots of people will say they're too linear, etc, but I found the story in either to be an elevated experience over the usual stuff. Nice tight story telling that keeps you involved... Especially "Enslaved". I really found myself enjoying the characters as well as the combat, and fairly simple puzzle solving. Good games that will keep you playing, without overwhelming you like a sandbox game ("Just Cause 2", "Red Dead Redemption" - Great games, but far too much to ever complete to a satisfactory level for a completist like myself)... Give 'em a try!
And in "Mafia II", you package-quest real Playboy centerfolds from way back in the Day throughout the missions. Very novel way of adding a collection side-game...
:D
Made me feel like a kid in the 1970s again.
I also heartily recommend the "LA Noire" suggestion eariler in the thread.
yep.Bioshock. It's a masterpiece, with an engrossing story that is simply breathtaking.

that is an amazing game, i actually prefer this game (even non-GOTY edition) than LA Noire
I agree.God of War 3. from beginning to end a spectacle to behold.

+1.
To those who were disappointed with the game - maybe you were expecting too much? I had really no expectations going into the game, but the scale of that game (not so much the graphics, and even no so much the gameplay) is what makes it. Everyone will remember the game's intro for years to come, which to me, graphically speaking, was the most impressive in-game scene this gen.

Hell yea the standard edition of RDR is still great fun, the GOTY edition adds so much more to it that its a hard game to beat as far as value for money goes. I thought LA Noire was a dull yawnfest but each to their own I guess. Please Log In to post.
