a lil story about an experience at ebgames

about 3 months i walked into my ebgames readier than ever to purchase a 60gb ps3... i asked the guy if they had any left and he walked into the back came out and said yes we do then said "if i may ask though, why do you want one"... i continued to tell him all of the reasons why i did (but i didnt know i had to haha) and all 3 guys working there continued to bash every freakin thing i said... such as the blu-ray player they said was going to fail and not worth it.. how resistance is the only good game out, and blah blah all that bull... anyways then they asked me if i had a 360 and i said yes i do and they said do you have gears of war and i said yes i have that also.. they said why do you need anything else and i ended up having to hear all 3 of them bash on the system endlessly.. i walked out of the store without a ps3 in my hand.. went back up the next day and purchased it.. now every time i walk into the store to purchase a ps3 game i have to endure dirty looks or them calling my stupid (whenever i dont even know the guys)... is it just me or is there a craaaaapload of people that just want to see sony fail.. i mean cmon guys its sooo dumb.. i have not been disappointed with my purchase at all and i love the system, and if i love the system now when there isnt even alot out yet, just imagine how much we will all love it in the future :D

Self-proclaimed experts get their jollies by hearing themselves talk.  I had experiences similar to yours.  I had to steer clear of my local EB for a month before I could go back in there without getting evil-eyed.

Luckily, I never experience any bashing of the PS3 in UK. The store I mainly buy my games from (GAME) is always helpful. The Staff never give any unwanted opinion (unless you ask for it) and just get on with their job. That's how thing should be.

Still... I am very disappointed with GAME today. I went in there, hoping to buy Splinter Cell DA for the PS3 but they don't have any in stock because they had a disagreement about pricing with Ubi Soft. However, the staff told me I could try buying it online. Okay, fine... I will buy it online. On their web-site, it said they have 4 in stock but when I clicked on 'buy now', it imediately said 'Out of Stock'.  WTF.

thats why i get my stuff at Best Buy

my cuz was going to get one at EB and he had the same problem, just not as extreme and he told them to F*** OFF and get MS's d*** out of their a$$e$ and he said they back down like little bit**es and then he went to best buy and got one LOL

There just little nerds who need to get there asses kicked.  Ive been reading all about the eb and gamestop stories hear so when i went in there to buy a game i was ready for them. If they would have said something i would have put one of there heads through the counter, but actually the guy was pretty cool. He has a ps3 and talks exactly what we pretty much talk about on these boards. Either that or i just look intimidating sometimes.lol So its not all eb and gamestops just the one with the little nerd 360 boys in them. They just need a good old fashioned beating.

I had the same experience when i bought my ps3 at ebgames. They sat there and laughed at me and basically said i was an idiot. So now i just go to best buy where the employees aren't a bunch of fanboy idiots. Erikwutaguy

Ok if they suck so freaking bad why do you guys continue to give them your money? Take it to Best Buy or Walmart. I refuse to support idiots by not spending money on them. Seriously after all that you went BACK? Why? Is there absolutley no one else you can buy games from? I live in Canada, and every employee I've talked to in an electronics store has told me they want a ps3. The only problem is the amount it costs.

yeah i know i guess i wimped out a lil bit on that day :roll:   stupid of me but yeah like i said it still happens to this day when i go in there to buy the games or even like a controller.. its almost like i get this look that says "your an idiot"   but yeah i ended up buying it and thats all that matters haha and im extremely happy with it.. idk what their problems are though why people have it in for it so much... its a freakin powerhouse! hahabtc138

WTH, they made fun of u and called u stupid ? Man go talk to their manager or boss, u r a consumer even if they are right and you are wrong u still have more power than them and u can report them. Damn it, if it was me :D i would of pulled them from the hair and take them to their managers office.

They were pretty stupid if they told you 3 months ago that RFOM was the only good game out. You should have asked them to name all the great games that were out in December 05 for X360. Even Wii had a single good game in December. Zelda was great, but Wii Sport got boring in 15 minutes and I never played it again.

At my gamestop store there is only one guy who tried to bash the PS3 while i was there. he started telling me how there is nothing to play on it, that blu-ray is gonna fail cause it cost $40, he even told me that there was a video on you tuube where a guy plugs up his PS3 right out of the box and it explodes. at that point i was extremely annoyed. he backed off when i told him i really couldn't care less about him or his opinion and that for all i care you can take your opinion get in a car and go drive off a cliff. after that whenever i go in there now he just kinda puts his head down and trys to act like he's organizing the games or he has to get something from the back room.
