I say a Fallout 3 online because the makers had that in mind.

Just in case no one knows. Borderlands for the PS3 and Xbox360 hits stores Oct 20th, 2009. Its only 2 weeks away!

It is a RPG FPS, it is something that both RPG loves and FPS lovers will get along with. it isn't a MMO cause you can only play with 4 people at I time I think.

BUT According to them, the Debug menu listed the total number of weapons in the game as 3,166,880.

However, the developers have stated that there are over 17 million guns that they have counted. This is a looters dream. Want to know more?

Borderlands doesnt really have that much in common with Fallout 3, as its a FPS with rpg element, and the story takes place on an desolate alien planet, while Fallout 3 is a RPG that is in the 1st person perspective (like most of Bethesda's games), that uses guns as the main weapons, with a story that take place in a post nuclear apocalypse Earth. By all means though, Borderlands is my #1 most wanted game this year.

In the October issue of Qore, the developer says the number is closer to 17,000,000. Regardless, that's a ton of possibilities, and I've had my copy prepaid for months already. Can't wait.

To be fair though if you're going to try to explain to somebody what Borderlands is to somebody that's never heard of it you're probably going to say "It's kiiinda like Fallout 3..." and go on from there. At first glance there's a lot of similarities between the two of them, but once you dig a little deeper you can understand what makes the two of them different.

The Fallout 3 comment was to get people into the topic to learn about the game. That and someone who likes fallout are very likely to like this game as well.

But I am looking forward to borderlands for alot of reason but I think the making your own custom vehicle that others can ride, BadAzz. Also 17,000,000 weapons is amazing for any game, I just hope they all feel different, and not all the same. Like in The Darkness, where there was no different or point to the guns.

BTW I can't wait for brutal legend as well lol.

I'm certainly interested, but I'll wait for some reviews. Too many games these days claim to be an RPG or RPG hybrid only to have one or two basic leveling systems. Time well tell, I guess.

Borderlands looks overrated to me. It looks like a combination of Quake: Enemy Territor + Crackdown 2 + Red Faction: Guerilla... don't get me wrong, I hope it's good but I expect a 7 or a 7.5 while most people are expecting 9.5's.

17 million weapons doesn't mean a whole lot because there could be as few as 5 base guns and then just add several modifiers that range from -10 to +10, such as damage, accuracy, range, damge radius, extra fire damage and 5x20x20x20x20x20 is already 16 million. Each combination of those modifiers count as a different gun, right? I think most roleplaying games could make a similar claim, so it doesn't mean much.

If they meant 4000 base guns with 4000 add ons (scope, silencer. etc) that would be impressive.

It's your opinion, but honestly, i dont see how you could compare Borderlands to any of the games you mentioned, as it isn't anything like them.

I was thinking what he was. I was think that maybe there will be a lot of guns but they will all feel the same or be no different between the ones you have. I mean stats don't really count as a different gun unless its a different gun lol. But I have fath that they would come out with a lot of base guns like Alien said. They wouldn't make such a bold statement unless they took care of something like that. They know gamers are picky when you promise something

Na, I think it will be like any other RPG game with weapons. You will find a couple as your favorites and sell everything else lol
