Hey guys... i've been reading reviews of Uncharted lately and most of them designates that the graphics has screen tearings.

What does this mean though?

What happens when the screen tears? Like when you move around the cameraon an LCD for the particular vista and you occasionally see linespoping up now and then orwhat?

This is a quotation from the IGN review"Graphically, Uncharted's beautiful as you tear down trees with turrets, watch Nate's clothes saturate with lagoon water and the sun filter through the leaves, but there is a lot of texture pop-in on the jungle floor and treasures while aliasing on the walls and screen tearing are par for the course. It shouldn't take you out of the experience, but it is noticeable."

Im not sure. All I noticed was blur when you turned around fast. But thats in the game as programed. I kinda know what it is from hearing a few explain it. But I did not really notice it any. If anyone saw it on any level? I would like to know which level so I can see if its their?

level/chapter? Same thing

There is suppose to be a blur effect when you turned around fast. I didn't see any screen tearing though.

And yea I saw a pop up once when it loaded into a level "it was right at the start." I saw a few plants on the ground or something came in late. But thats about it while coming into a level, as their is really no load times. But no tears that I can see. Im sure theirs maybe a few leaves 400 miles in the distance that may be affected lol. But on my dads grave, swear! I dont see them?

I think it's being read wrong. Try reading it this way:

"...aliasing on the walls and screen tearing are par for the course."

I don't notice much of either in any other games therefore I think they mean it's good.

I have no idea what reviewers mean by a "screen tear", but that shouldn't stop you from buying it just because of some texture pop-ins because I saw a lot of those in Gears of War and Bioshock at a friend's house and yet people loved them.

I have Uncharted and I play it on a SD television. Yet I've never encountered a screen tear, so don't worry about it.

Gears was all about the pop-in, it used to annoy me like crazy when I owned it.

Screen tearing simply means it doesn't use vsync, which most games dont these days.

Yes, there is screen tearing, but it's very minor. You'll see little lines go across your tv every now and then. No big deal. There is texture pop-in, which seems to be very popular this generation....

Oh heck I know what it is now. And can you even see that from 10 feet away? I knew it was when the screen "what you see in one" splits some. I had no clue that it was that minor of a thing thow. God what a joke to make such a big deal on that, when we have been seeing that since the 360 came out.

Yeah, it's no big deal here. The screen tearing in Splinter Cell Double Agent was terrible, though.
