ii was playing gow 1 while DLing stuf so i think as long as your not online its fine.

no, you cannot download while playing PS1/PS2 games. you can, however, download while playing PS3 games as long as you do not play online. this was stated by Sony on the update page.

I don't think so. I'd try to find out, but there's nothing I want to download now. I'll find out when they release the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo.
