I am planning on buying a PS3 but I have just3 questions for all of you PS3 owners:

1)How much is the additional warrenty that stores try to sell you?

2)Do I really need the warrenty?

3)What's the failure rate of the PS3?

Be seeing yall soon!!!

I know the failure rate on this system is like 0.02% of all consoles. The other two, I'm not really sure about...

1. From Best Buy I got 2 years for (I think) 40$

2. You should have it, just in case anything ever happens.

3. Like freaky said, it's less than .02%

Most store selled warranties are complete ripoffs designed to squize money out of people who doesn't know any better. But I'm not sure how this goes for the PS3. If Sony has an allready established warranty for it, then that should be plenty, if not you may want to consider something from the store (unless your country, like mine, has laws set in place to protect you if there is any fault to bought technology.). I don't know about the PS3's fail rate, but I know it's probalby not very high and I've never heard of anyone not recieving a free fix from Sony.
